Hard to believe a Monday could be perfect for a wage slave, but it was.

I ate properly and was satisfied by my meals. I felt hunger before my meals and thanked God for a healthy body that could respond appropriately.

I accomplished good things at the office, and didn't worry about what had to be pushed aside.

I exercised in the morning, working on improving my balance and continuing to strengthen the knee that had ACL surgery.

Adjustment phase...

Just back from first business trip since I began with Calorie King. Yuk - did dreadfully with my foods. I've learned I cannot just eyeball a menu and know what foods will be within my calorie range. Maybe someday, but not now, not in the second week of program.

I did stay moving - walking and using the Stretch & Pray book out of Augsburg publishers.

Once I looked at my charts for the past two weeks I had an self-image of never reaching goal weight.

Helpful Documentaries...

I watched two public broadcasting documentaries this week - one on heart disease, one on fat.

Both are helpful in keeping me focused on the goal of long-term lifestyle change which includes weightloss and lots of outdoor activities.

I'm learning that I need to reach out for help. That a lack of self-discipline is not really an internal struggle, but a resistance to living wholly in community.

And being of my bent, I see that then I miss living holy in community.

Restaurant Surprise...

Had breakfast out today, thought I was being modest in my choices. Came home to check nutritional info on-line. Not one breakfast plate was less than 900 calories. Based on halving some sides, not adding anything on top, I think I stepped away from breakfast with near 500 calories.

Lesson learned: check nutritional info before heading out the door. Especially for restaurants where I eat regularly.

A newbie here, but not new to the process of
