View OTTER's food & exercise for this day
Have off from work through wednesday this week. Had great intentions of having HIGH activity while away from work. But it is COLD and RAINY and even had some snow/hail, so I've barely been getting my minimum in. May not reach my week's total goal unless the weather turns around.
SOooo, learned I'm more of a faire-weather fitness freak than I had thought. Won't try to change that this week, but will keep it in mind for extended vacations. Which leads me to my other discovery.
Food is one of life's pleasures!
Without the structure of work, while enjoying unstructured time, I look forward to meal times in a much bigger way than I do during my work week. Also I look forward to a variety of flavors or reacquainting with flavors I've avoided, or finding new flavors. So far I've had small splurges almost every day, and balanced them out with healthful meals on either side and enough exercise to keep my calorie total roughly where it should be.
Something to keep in mind if I'm ever lucky enough to truly retire or change careers so I no longer work an office job.
Proof is in the pudding -- no worries until weigh-in on Saturday.
Food Words
Why do so many good English phrases include food? Proof is in the pudding. That won't cut the mustard. Spice up your life. Relish the experience. I'm in a bit of a pickle. Sandwich generation. He's a real ham. I'm sure there are more. Anyone want to add a phrase or two?
Happy Earth Day! -Otter
