That's the title on my guided prayer meditation/journal for this day. Kind of made me laugh to see this – my theme has been "not hiding me." This is arguably the same as "no more camouflage."

The part that helped most out of today's reading: "The Bible never camouflaged the weaknesses of the people God used. God used David. God used Abraham . . . . [t]he Church is a hospital for wounded souls."

From this reading I took that I must be forgiving of the ways I am not, and cannot, be perfect. And I want to be forgiving of others in the same way. Funny, I don't often think of myself as too terribly smart, gifted, or talented. Which leads me to apply the if I can do it, anyone can do it logic to things. This gets me in trouble.

The Exercise Plan: I really should have a plan and goals for my exercise. I love to do yoga, go walking (cardio), ride my bike (cardio), and I need to do weight training. Four types of exercise that I want to balance across six or seven days of workouts.

Day 1 Yoga and Cardio (my choice)
Day 2 Dumbbell and Cardio (my choice)
Day 3 Cardio long (my choice)
Day 4 Dumbbell and short Yoga
Day 5 Yoga and Cardio (my choice)
Day 6 Short yoga and long cardio (my choice)
Day 7 Rest or long cardio

Well, this plan will add, for sure, one extra day of dumbbell than I have been managing. I'd like to tweak it and eventually be doing the dumbbell 3x a week. I keep my dumbbell sessions brief – 30 to 45 minutes. I work in a flow or circuit. I don't have patience to spend more time on weights, and I don't want to hang out at the gym resting between sets.

Turnip Slaw: Yes, turnips! Turnips are fresh and abundant from my garden right now. But the weather's been so hot I have not wanted to COOK! So here's a raw turnip recipe:

Four well-scrubbed medium sized turnips, coarsely grated
Two well-scrubbed medium carrots, coarsely grated
1 TBS toasted sesame seeds
1 TBS sugar (optional)
3 TBS rice wine vinegar
1 TBS olive oil (optional – or try something else, like flax oil)

Blend well. Refrigerate for an hour or overnight for flavors to meld. Crispy tart/spicy salad, good with picnic food. Made about 4 side servings for us.

Calories: 120 per serving (calculated with olive oil and sugar).

:bye: This is where things are for now in my life. Dayenu!
