Weigh-in today shows that I am still "living in the same neighborhood." I guess I am starting to get tired of the plateau, and thinking that maybe I can find the strength to be more true in my efforts and break the plateau. I am just one pound away from getting to a new neighborhood – high normal instead of overweight. This week I will take special care with my snacks, an area that has been drifting for me. We will see if that has an affect on next week's weigh-in.

My Blog Friend MOUGHI posted some good comments and questions on my last entry. Decided to use that as a launching point for this short entry.

The process of looking for a church home can be a long one. My husband and I, married just under six years, feel pretty new to marriage and have had to learn how to be married together, live together, navigate life's little ups-and-downs, and all the day-to-day things that come in any relationship. The worship portion has been just a small part of that learning journey. We finally understand what we think we are looking for – we both like a certain amount of order, I like ritual, he likes traditional music, we want a place with strong community within the church and a connection to its local community (the neighborhood where the church lives). We think a church that is less than 100 members will be too small, and a church that is more than 300 members will be too large. Yes, I need challenge, and a community large enough to learn from. Hubby is not as fond of worship as he is of fellowship opportunities (his worship is more on the "doing" side of life). We would like a community that is diverse – ages, backgrounds, races, sexes. Finally, we want a community that is strong enough to welcome doubt, yet continue to encourage its members to grow and seek answers through faithful discernment. Pretty tall order. Finding a church home may be a frustrating time, or it may be the most fruitful times of our lives!

I guess that is enough for now. Not much time for writing, and soon it will be time for riding! (A homonym of an afternoon.)

Pax.
