Did okay with meals yesterday, but not perfect. Was feeling a little alarmed at how the scale was lowering too quickly for me, and how cold I was all the time, since coming to visit my middle sister. Was showing weight loss even after breakfast with all my clothes on. (Usually weigh-in nude, and right after rising.) So have allowed myself a few more dense meals.
Middle sister joined us at the table for Thanksgiving, but left shortly after everyone sat down. At least she kept all her food inside her yesterday.
Today was a visit from the visiting nurse. I think the nurse was concerned for middle sister. I overheard middle sister say to nurse that the noise and exhuberance our neice can show (my baby sister's child) often brings middle sister's pain up to 9 (on a scale of 0 to 10, 10 being the highest).
I watched middle sister as she rested in the early morning, before sunrise. Her face grows thin, her breathing is shallow. Still, she is the most beautiful and precious person I know right now.
Had a good Thanksgiving Night talk with my dad last night. He encouraged me to use this time as a catalyst for change in my own life. To seek higher education and find something I can do that is more satisfying and meaningful than the work I do currently. I was pleased by that conversation.
Did some work today. Good for me. Trying to keep my job, and keep my mind occupied by more than sick bed needs.
Nothing else to say. Thoughts ping pong about. Worries are always present. I give my worries to God, then find myself stealing them back again. Very human, eh?
Shalom, -Otter
