Weigh-in on new scale today...

Monday, December 29th 2008

New scale says I weigh 5 pounds more than I did last time I weighed in. Which I think is not bad (see "Werepig" entry from yesterday). Of course, I won't know my real weight until I'm home and do my nude weigh-in.

Still, I think I can achieve goal weight in reasonable time, and I'm looking forward to maintenance. Once I've been at goal weight for a year, I'll have my wedding bands re-sized. Right now I wear them on a chain around my neck (near my heart).

Eating like a Werepig (related to werewolf)...

Sunday, December 28th 2008

Werepigs eat everything that doesn't run away. And like Werewolfs, their behavior hurts the ones they love the most :-/

Ate better today (less sugar).

Got some boxes packed to ship toward home.

Thinking about middle sister lots. Woke up in t...

Fiddler on the Roof plays in the living room...

Thursday, December 25th 2008

I've just finished a light dinner, the rest of the family is in the living room, and I'm pondering what my "resolutions" (or goals) should be for the new year after the lessons of this closing year. Feeling especially thoughtful after a phone conversation with my older half-brother.

Older brother is from my father's first marriage, a boy we didn't get to see but 2x during my childhood. We've tried as adults to have some kind of relationship. Temperamentally, brother tells me tha...

New Week...

Monday, December 22nd 2008

My family tells me we did great at the Memorial Service. I was the only blood relative to speak. My baby sister wrote something that her hubby read for her, my stepmom and dad brought themselves and other gifts (flowers, art), but I was the only one to speak. I'm glad I did speak. I invited anyone who felt comfortable to share a memory or two, to tells us what middle sister meant to them. There were some amazing stories.

I learned that middle sister was generous with her time and art, ...
