Monday, Jan 12 2009 - Embrace the Chaos!

View OTTER's food & exercise for this day

Taking a quick break - instead of walking or eating my apple, I'll update my blog.

WORK: All my resistance and anger and unhappiness evaporated with the warm welcome I have received on returning to work. So I feel confused. I love the work I do. I just do not understand the communication styles of those closest to me, and (even after 11 years) have not seemed to be able to adjust to those styles. My resolution: take care of business here, under this roof. Seek the assistance of a life coach; someone who can help me evaluate my skills and talents and dreams, make decisions later!

HOME: Still no home. Hubby is optimistic one more week. After visiting the worksite over weekend, and listening to hubby speak, and meeting a few of the contractors, two things are going on: This is a big project and will take longer than we imagine; hubby is "helping" contractors - which may make things take longer than forecast.

ME: Eating poorly, not making time for exercise, and it's taking forever to get over this cold. Prayer helps my spiritual side, but hasn't been soothing my conviction (my FEARS) that I'm living amid chaos. I'm tired of hotel living, I don't have my tools to do proper life habits, I'm just not sure what positive steps I can take at this point. I just keep trying stuff.

What I did right today: brought my own snacks, said no to chocolate twice, satisfying devotional time in the morning. Goal for this evening: MOVEMENT - dance or walking or a workout DVD utilizing the tiny floor space in the hotel.

Growth moment: better compassion for people who blog/say "I can't do those healthy habits consistently!" I finally understand that YES, there are times when none of the healthy habits of a lifetime are easy to implement.

Time to go back to my labors. Peace be with my visitors, and to all the nations. -Otter
