Wednesday, Jan 21 2009 - My Own Scale...
View OTTER's food & exercise for this day
Got to weigh myself on my own scale, using my favored technique, and I'm .4 # less than I was when I left for back East on November 12, 2008. I feel my weight may have dropped as low as 132, and may have gone as high as 142 during that time. But at least I have one of my favored tools back in my life!

Feel a little better. Head congestion a little improved - mostly nose breathing today. Interrupted sleep last night, but a neti-pot bath for my sinuses helped me relax enough to sleep well again the second half of the night. Read up on the dangers of decongestants, and have resolved to stop using them, even if I have a night or two of mouth breathing yet to go.
Visit to house and viewing remodel progress, makes me think moving back under "camping" conditions may be possible later this week. My hubby wanted to know if it will work - all I could say is that I would try. If the dust makes me sick, or the noise makes it so I can't rest and be functional on my job, I'll find a place to live temporarily.

Forgot to bring those work quotes I wanted to share. Maybe tomorrow.

Watched part of the inauguration yesterday. Though I'm old enough to know better - placing all my hopes in one frail human - it still felt good to see the outpouring of hope, and the fulfillment of dreams for so many people. (Of course, there's a wee cynical self that says "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." But I really hope my cynical self is just WRONG.)

Already time to plan middle sister's art exhibition, causing friction between baby sister and step mom. Hopefully resolvable as we remind and encourage that this is supposed to be a collaborative process.

That's all for now. Happy Day, thanks for visiting. -Otter

Hi, Friend,
I just read your last 2 blog entries. I am so proud of you! It's hard this time, I know (I know!), but still you are looking for the positive, you are in touch with yourself and staying together mind, body, and soul. AND the payoff for all this balancing act is a fun, entertaining, smooth traffiking house!
Great job on the weight loss since November. I doubt that you gained and lost 10 pounds during the stress. I am so glad for you that you didn't see any gain when you got your friend the scale back with you. Keep on keeping on, Sweetheart, you're doing great!
