OTTER's CalorieKing blog

Saturday, May 30 2009 - Body Bugg arrived this week...

I'm both excited and disappointed.

Excited because I love tools that help me with the details.

Disappointed because it can't be used without a subscription -- which is at one end (at highest cost) a month-to-month subscription, and at the other end (at lowest cost) a yearly fee.

So, I travel north to work four days next week, and will begin real "testing" of the device during my six-months "free" subscription period (included in cost of device). If I'm happier with BB results than my efforts on CK, I'll just switch.

Continuing with Beck. Though her "permission" to not begin the diet for the first 14 days was the WRONG suggestion for me to hear. I feel like crap. Must be time to focus on diet and exercise again.

Good thing: I walked in a 5K today. Again took me about an hour. Between walk and hanging out with niece and grandnephew, and laundry, and grocery shopping, my first full day of wearing the BB shows I've burned close to 1800 calories. It will be interesting to contrast this with a work day -- and office work day. Some of those days I'm on my feet all day while I teach (train). Some of those days my hind end never sees light (I'm writing training materials, testing computers, and answering phone calls for help).

I'm in a piss poor mood. Missing the gone sister. Tired of my un-home (last phase of remodel blues, there). Don't want to have to travel next week but already committed. Economy weird so who can find work. My skills are from another time, and I have little confidence I could find something new.

JESUS, if I survive this year it will be some kind of miracle! I'll have to read the Book of Job in December, to appreciate someone who has had real loss and still turns to God. Right now, all I can say "better man than me, Gunga Din!"

Off to beat the heat with my feet up watching movies.

I appreciate if you've read this far and come to visit me. May there be blessings on your house, and a pleasant surprise for you this weekend.

Love, -Otter

I have been listening to the beck book on tape. It has helped me to hear it verbally. Take care. What is BB? Take care and you too have a pleasant weekend.
