View OTTER's food & exercise for this day

I have a kitchen!!!

I bought healthy food to supplement the abundance of healthy things growing in my yard. I've prepared a few things, so I can be ready for the work week.

I am making my body do the right things, even though I have zero motivation today.

I'm just on overwhelm for the things that have happened this year and quite recently. I need a few days to just stare out the window, wander through the garden, ride the bike, clear my mind, and listen for the Spirit.

My weight is fluctuating about 2pounds up/down at about 10 pounds heavier than I wanted to be this summer, and close to 15 pounds heavier than my "gee-wouldn't-that-be-fabulous" weight. (There's still the "holy-cow-I-never-thought-I'd-fit-in-a-size-5" weight to consider after I get to "...fabulous.";)

The keys to success, always, are to be accountable, to make right choices consistently, and to consistently be active. No magic, just consistent action.

I hate it, but this phrase is figuring large: I can't.

So let me spin it different. I can't today, I can't in this hour, but I will do everything I can to encourage motivation to return, and to make good habits take over and make change.

I will set aside worry about what I can't control or change, what only time will change.

And I will appreciate what I can where I can.

Now I will go focus on this great library book Rapt: Attention and the Focused Life to help me think about what I focus on is what my life is/becomes. And then I will ride my bike to the library to pick up three pieces on hold!

Thanks for visiting! -Otter

Congratulations on the kitchen! It's been several months since you got back home to a Kitchen Under Construction so I'm glad you're finally reaping the benefit.

Hoot! Hoot! Hooray! At last! a kitchen!!! You can almost see normal life around the next bend, can't you. Can you take some time off for staring out the window? That sounds like a really good idea to me. And remember darling -- YES, you can. But a rest would be a great idea ....

:hi: Congratulations on getting your kitchen back! I'm sorry you are having a rough time staying motivated, but you sure have been through a lot this year. Give yourself time, the motivation will return and you will see that size 5. Take care my friend!
