Monday, Oct 19 2009 - Move done, RealAge (ack!)
View OTTER's food & exercise for this day
a.m.: Finished my move to new place. While it will take some adjustment I think that this will be a vast improvement to my life. Moving day was Saturday, and I felt less stressed by Saturday night. Right now I'm: getting used to sounds of neighbors, sharing parking lot, hearing trains pass by, having 665 sq ft where I had close to 1800 sq ft before.
Feeling a little gleeful about simplifying my life. That's gotta be a good sign.
RealAge.com - I test at 10 years older than myself. Mostly because of things I couldn't control (middle sister's death, moving, breast cancer in my family, separation of marriage). But some things I can influence - what I eat, how consistently I exercise.
So, I'm trying again to influence where I can! Luck and discipline and the comfort of recognizing God's presence in all parts of my life's journey. That should help.
p.m.: First step = accountability. Today I've entered everything I've eaten. Some of it is pretty bad. Usually when I see how I'm abusing myself through food I get ready to make changes. A salute to getting ready!
Gotta run. -Otter

I hope that you can start feeling settled in and "at home" in your new place soon. Knowing for the past few months that you'd be moving out had to be pretty unsettling. I know you'll miss the garden you had, but maybe you can get a window box to plant some tomatos or flowers?

What a lovely idea Peanut has! Right now I want to wait to go to the Farmer's Market on Sunday to buy my flowers. It will delight my eyes to see all the fresh things straight from local farms, and then to bring home a fragrant bouquet.

Congratulations on getting yourself moved. Next time you go to the store, if you can afford it, buy yourself some flowers. It will do you good.
