First time in I don't know how long!

Saturday, April 5th 2008

I am under 150#! I know I did a diet about 2 years ago and was briefly under 150, but it didn't even last long enough to get new clothes. This time (God willing), I am learning enough and TRUSTING enough that my skills have changed and I can face any life event with aplomb. There is no longer a need to use food as a crutch for my emotional highs and lows. At least, it sure feels different. If I keep practicing what I learn, what I continue to learn, reaching out for support when I need it...

PEANUTS!

Thursday, April 3rd 2008

Hungry this afternoon. Drank water, had healthful snack, wait a while. Drank sparkling water, waited another while. STILL HUNGRY. Found a snack - PEANUTS, yumm.

Peanuts are a dense nutrient food. So here I am, over calorie limit before end of day.

Into the Belly of the Beast - A BUSINESS TRIP...

Wednesday, March 26th 2008

Heading north for a few days. Won't be back until Saturday or Sunday -- so, will miss weigh-in; and do not know if I can blog or forum or university until I get back.

Remember the PLAN: Think ahead. Prepare for office traps (bowls of snacks, improptu birthday parties, etc.). Prepare for workouts - hotel has fitness center, may have pool. Nonperishable snacks have been packed. Materials for long drive so that the drive doesn't become an excuse to graze for hours.

With any luck and...

Tools for New Habits (or, How NOT to become a statistic!)…

Tuesday, March 25th 2008

As mentioned on my blog last week, those who begin a new diet as a New Year's resolution statistically "fall off the wagon" on March 18. I think it is not just New Year's Dieters, but everyone starting something new that requires behavior change, new habits, new knowledge, really any CHANGE, is statistically likely to "fail" before 90 days have passed.

We're not machines
That's right, if my new routine does not factor in basic human elements, I will fail. There are...
