Wool Socks to Pray...

Tuesday, September 8th 2009

When I first began my faith journey, I was afraid to pray. Afraid I was undeserving of God's love. Afraid I only deserved God's wrath and anger. Remember, this is the God that swallowed people into the earth (I was an Old Testament girl back then). Since my persistent image was I'd burst into flames if I prayed, I tried to imagine what would keep me safe. A wool blanket would smother flames quickly, I decided. Purple Pork !

Tuesday, August 18th 2009

I invented a recipe and loved it. We have a plum tree in our back yard, all the fruits are ripe NOW. We have red cabbage, red onion, beets. I had three pork chops. Finally turned in during the wee hours this morning, and I set my alarm for 5:30 a.m. Got up immediately at the alarm, made sure all windows and doors are open, and taking care of computer business while it is at the coolest point of day (7...

Monday, a vacation day!...

Monday, July 27th 2009

My favorite kind of vacation day - stay at home day!

Good weekend. Blend of activities to keep me moving and thinking and learning.

MOVING: 3 hour 20 minute bike ride on Saturday. Gardening Saturday and this morning. Mayo Clinic Arthritis Yoga exercises (by Rodney Yee on a Gaiam product). Laundry at the laundromat (in 97 degree weather!) for 2+ hours last night. House organizing (still getting moved into the new kitchen). Hoping today to clean home office in 99 degree weather....
