View PLATEOFSTARS's food & exercise for this day

So,

I've been off to a slow start which was a little off-putting because, from the few times I've lost weight before, I've been able to keep a momentum for, at least, the first few months due to the huge initial success.

I think this time it was due to the fact that I had been eating quite wholesomely and had lost 20-25 lbs before starting CK, so there was no water-loss or kick-start of the metabolism effect to run off of.

Also having to fine tune the CK system to work for me was a challenge at first... finding the right daily calorie target and how much exercise calories I could eat back while still losing weight and feeling satisfied.

But this week was like clockwork - 2 lbs down! I am on a natural high today because when I woke up, I was dreading getting on the scale for my weekly weigh-in for fear that, for a third week in a row, I would have stayed the same weight.

So glad I didn't cheat myself by saying "I'll weigh in later this week". I feel great!

Some things that are working that I need to keep up with:
- protein shake in the morning along with a piece of fruit for breakfast (alternate every other day with my usual oatmeal)
- limit alcohol intake to no more than once every 2 weeks
- walking/activity EVERY day
- lots of salad and fewer grains

Some things I need to start working on:
- going to the gym at least twice a week for weight training
- more yoga to help with the flexibility
- no more evening snacking (maybe go for a walk in the evening?)

Today is a great motivation day... Hoping to keep up the motivational high.

:heart1:

Thanks Jen! I feel great! I am discovering a love for salad that I thought I would NEVER have. I just have to add fun things like artichoke hearts and roasted red pepper. mmm...

HI I had exactly the same experience you are having with CK, in the past Atkins or whatever I was doing I would always lose weight very quickly, then something would happen.... and I would slowly or quickly as the case may be, returned to my old habits around food and I would gain everything back with an additional 10 before my weight would stabilize. Ck has been slow a slow stairstep of lose a few, gain a pound then drop three, then hold for two weeks the lose a pound? Very frustrating but I am going on four months now and and have love 30 pounds and I can see myself living this way for the rest of my life. So my point is don't allow yourself to get discouraged even if the scale isn't showing what you want to see. When behavior and enviroment are consistenly healthy, your body will follow. Keep up the work, you are doing great
