Monday, Dec 28 2009 - The holiday is .... OVER...!!!
View PLATEOFSTARS's food & exercise for this day
This is a sentence I am going to have to continually repeat to myself over the next few days as I continue to be tempted to let myself have this or that treat "in the spirit of the holidays"
I won't lie... I didn't do very well calorie-wise AT ALL christmas day or boxing day... but I'm ok with that. I logged EVERYTHING. My calories were about double what they are on a normal weight loss day... but I refused to let myself feel bad.
BUT... I also refuse to let myself continue to eat like that.
I countered a lot of the extra calories by doing a lot of activities... such as tobogganing (I actually chose to RUN up the hill with my sled to try and burn more calories... everyone around me must have thought I was nuts!). I also went snowshoeing, swimming and played an intensive game of squash with my husband.
I had my weekly weigh in this morning and I was actually a little bit afraid to see the number go up... but it's actually down. I stayed the same the last 2 weigh ins so I wouldn't be surprised if it's weight loss that's just now caught up with me.
Well... I have a few goals for the new year that I want to update. These smaller increment milestones should keep me motivated over the next few months:
Starting weight by Jan 1: 195
Jan 15th weight (smallest weight in my adult life): 190
Feb 1st weight (trip to Mexico): 187
Mar 1st weight (smaller than my husband): 179
April 5th weight (my birthday and the end of the Easter challenge): 170
May 15th weight ("Normal BMI" ): 164
August 18th (anniversary): 150 .... GOAL WEIGHT!
I can do this... I may not stick exactly to these timelines but they give me something concrete to work toward.
Yes, the holiday is definitely over... back to work!

Oooh be sure to share pics of the NYE outfit - it's so exciting when weightloss = new clothes you didn't have to pay for!

Is this the dress?! Super cute! I too would never have even dreamed of taking a 10 in the dressing room! I love that someone else found the situation confusing! I guess it takes your brain a while to catch up to your new body!

You look beautiful in the picture! I think you maneuvered the holidays fairly well; sometimes we just have these times where there's a ton of food and we eat it, but as long as you try and eat in moderation and/or work in activities, it's the best you can do. If it was only two days, that's a success. In the past, I know I ate way more than double what I should, and it lasted for DAYS - the entire time I was with my family. So if you're anything like me, this is still progress! I'm not condoning 'bad behavior', but you just have to be realistic, this is how to fit CK into REAL life. Besides, your weight is down and like I said, you look great!!
