Wednesday, Jan 6 2010 - Who knew going from 200 to 190 would be so tough?

I'm trying really hard to get into the 190s... pretty monumental for me because I have never been in the 180s... at least not in my entire adult life.
These past 2-3 weeks have been difficult calorie wise... partly because of the holiday eating/drinking, partly because of the lack of structured schedule, partly because of the stress... etc etc.
But now it is SO BACK TO WORK FOR ME!
I've really intensified my activity levels with more weight training and have added running to my cardio regimen as well as the elliptical and am doing yoga more frequently in the mornings.
Now that I think of it, my stalling on the scale the past week or so could be in part due to the changes in my work outs. I'm still noticing body changes (pants fitting looser, etc) which supports that theory.
I'm cutting back my calories as I have gotten very loose in that regard.
I've been at 197.4 for over a week now. My goal is to be under 195 by next Friday and into the 180s in the first week of February.
I'm trying not to get too comfortable at this weight... I am getting to the point where I have to buy new clothes to fit me between this weight and my goal weight (will probably have to do so again).
My husband keeps telling me I look fine in the clothes I already have... that a lot of women wear "baggy" clothes... but he doesn't get the point. I am losing weight and I want people to notice! I want to show off my hard work!
I DON'T want to keep wearing my XL shirts or size 16 blouses when I can fit some mediums and many 12s.
So, I am opting to buy clothes on the tighter side... A) because I will be motivated to keep losing and will notice the loss as they start to fit better and B) because they will last longer in my closet.
Might not work for everyone, but works for me!

I know you will get there before you know it!! I am totally with you about the clothes, I have no pants all mine are so baggy I look like an 80's rapper!! I want to feel good about myself and the work I put in and when I wear stuff that is too big I look horrible! I say buy a few things and stuff you can shrink into!!! Keep up the excellent work!
