Thursday, Jan 7 2010 - Frustration......

View PLATEOFSTARS's food & exercise for this day

So today I am a wee bit frustrated... I've been very good the past few days with calories and pushing myself with exercise and although I'm usually the first to say "calorie deficits and excercise can take up to a week or more to catch up with the scale" I am still frustrated!

:bang:

197.4 consistently for the past 5 days STRAIGHT. Argh. :angry2:

I'm going to keep working at it and try to take it in perspective.

Some positive things I have noticed have changed in my body lately:
- when I lay down, I can feel my hip bones and my belly doesn't rise too much higher than my hip bones
- My collarbone is looking rather lovely
- My husband exclaimed a week ago that he could feel my ribs... a strange thing to say but I take that to mean there is less padding in that area
- I am all over the map when it comes to sizes for bottoms... still between a 14-16 in Gap pants, but bought a pair of 12s at winners the other day that fit snug but don't cut off oxygen or anything
- For the first time EVER I have been able to wear size 12 tops... I bought a very pretty pink size 12 top yesterday that I'm wearing today. Love it.
- My cardio capacity is much higher than even a month ago. No problem keeping my heart rate over 145
- I went for my second run last night with my husband... it was tough but I was ok... not out of breath or anything
- I've lost a few inches on my hips and thighs in the past month since I've been targeting my butt and legs in my weight training
- my arms are looking super buff!

Some things I look forward to working on:
- Putting on that first pair of 10s! Yes, 12s were a first for me, but there's something special about 10s... maybe that most stores carry 10s? maybe I have this idea that size 10 women don't look huge?
- Getting out of the obese bmi (just a few pounds to go!)
- Getting under 180 which will put me at a smaller weight than my husband
- Reducing the flab that still lingers on the underside of my arms... no use showing off my arms if I've got little flags flapping in the wind underneath! :laugh5:
- Working on my core... my abs and core are incredibly weak and need a lot of work. I'm going to turn my focus from butt/legs to core for the next month or so
- Being able to run 20-30 mins with no walking

Ok... gotta keep working at this... it's tough but I WILL break this plateau... THIS WEEK. No ifs, ands, or buts about it!! :nono5:

you can do it -- sometimes our bodies just take a plateau break. the next time you weigh in, the scale might go way down. don't get frustrated! you're doing great!

According to my Aunt's doctor you can break a plateau by eatting nothing but apples for a whole day. I wouldn't do it myself (I like food too much), but thought I'd share in case you are really fed up with it :) s

Nicole, you have come so far!! Congratulations!

It is fantastic to see and feel the changes in one's body. I love that I can feel my muscles actually working in my obliques, hips and thighs.

You are such an inspiration and contribute tons of motivation to me and others at CK. Thank you for that.

I am in no doubt that you will hit your goals. Have fun...
