Ok,
I think I've just about HAD IT with my scale!
I haven't been able to budge lower than 178 the past 3-4 weeks and most often hovering +/- 1 lb from 180.
And I know it's ok and I should just be patient and happy that I'm still losing inches. I mean, I lost an entire inch in the last 2 weeks off my waist. I shouldn't be complaining right?
I shouldn't get caught up in the numbers and just be happy to be the thinnest I've been in my adult life... etc etc. And I am... but I'm still a little bit frustrated.
I'm definitely going to keep doing what I'm doing cause, damn! am I ever getting TONED! My arms and shoulders are ROCKIN! Even I have to admit my butt is getting pretty darn cute with all this running I've been doing.
BUT... I have noticed I'm acquiring some bad habits. Like... I haven't logged the last 2 weekends! What's with that!?
And I was totally afraid to step on the scale this morning. NOT cool.
So here's some commitments I'll be making over the coming weeks:
Everyday:
- log food (and accurately being more conservative that generous)
- try not to go over net 1250 (even if it's green, not to exceed my target calories)
- only weigh in on Mondays and Fridays
Mondays:
- Morning Yoga with Rodney (50 mins): approx 150 cals burned
- gross calories: max 1400
- CK weekly weigh-in
Tuesdays:
- Gym: 20 mins cardio / 30 mins weights: approx 350 cals burned
- gross calories: max 1450
Wednesdays:
- 45 mins run: approx 450 cals burned
- gross calories: max 1500
Thursdays:
- 45 mins run: approx 450 cals burned
- gross calories: max 1500
Fridays:
- REST (am yoga with Rodney optional: 20 mins)
- gross calories: max 1300
- Challenge weigh-in
Saturdays:
- 20 mins cardio / 40 mins weights: approx 400 cals burned
- gross calories: max 1450
Sundays:
- 45 mins run: approx 450 cals burned
- gross calories: max 1500

Thanks for the tips Rachel. I've been thinking long and hard about the lack of budging. My body is definitely regrouping. I mean, I am still 'shrinking' so I know that I'm doing something right. I do see a small problem that is probably bigger than I think it is which is that I have become REALLY lax with the logging of my calories... I tell myself "ah, you've been working out so hard, you don't need to log this/that"
So I need to get more diligent FOR SURE.
You're right, I could stand to lessen the cardio, I just know that's a great way to get a quick calorie burn and warm up my muscles for weight training. Maybe shortening to 10-15 mins instead of 20.

That's a Ton of exercise. Especially cardio.
Assuming you're eating well consistently, and I'm betting you are, you have two choices, eat a little more, or eat a little less. There are some days when I eat only to get to 1200 cals net. Depends on what my body tells me. You have lost a tremendous amount of weight in a very short span of time. Your body may very well be hitting an actual plateau if the scale doesn't budge for another two weeks. You've been hitting 1200 since day 1 if I remember correctly, that's a long time to be at that number. Your body might be tuckered out and is regrouping.
OR, you could be swollen from all the exercise. Are you drinking enough water? Are you keeping your sodium levels low?
I would cut out the cardio on Tuesdays & Saturdays and do all weights those days. The running you do looks sufficient to me for cardio purposes. Changing the schedule up would also shake your body up and not let it get complacent.
If you're eating is good, your getting enough protein and fiber, and you're being consistent, the only other two areas to change are water/sodium intake and your exercise.
The scale will move, but it does slow down when you have less weight to lose.
You'll get there! :-)

I've been where you are, that was my January. And it is hard. I think for some reason, I was self sabotaging a bit...letting up on my logging, not doing what I knew I should. It will pass. It sucks, but you WILL lose again. Focus on your RIPPED arms! =0)
I wish I had some really sage advice for you, but I don't. You know that really, what counts, are those inches you are losing. Just keep up the good fight.

Yeah,
I'm thinking of going back to my gym for another fit assessment, my last one was 4 months ago. In the assessment he gives the body fat percentage. I'll get on that!

I think at this point it is important for you to go back and look at where you started, where you have been, and where you are now. You will then have no choice but to think to yourself, "damn, I'm incredible!" And you are!
The scale means nothing! It isn't the final say in your body getting slimmer and healthier, you know you're doing the right things, your body is getting slimmer and that scale will catch up in time. Also remember at some point you are going to be as "fat free" as possible. Your scale is going to stop going down and might even start to go up a bit...but your body fat percentage is going to be going down, down, down.
Maybe it is time to go have your body fat checked and see where you're at now and then have it checked at a later date to see how far you have come. I think you will be pleasantly surprised to see just what kind of improvements you have made and without that scale giving you any credit for it either.

Argh! I am right there with you! Will I ever get under 150? I feel like picking the scale up and throwing it against the mirror in the mornings. Talked to the trainer and she wants me at 50% carb, 30% protein, and 20% fat...sticking to it pretty well and the scale still won't move. So, I have all the empathy in the world for you. Just keep going...or so I have been told.

Nicole, silly goose. Youre doing so great. Just keep to your plan, but try not getting on the scale during the week. Just for one week. You might be obsessing a wee bit. Its normal to hover (not saying the ''p'' word!) off and on. I read that mixed in with our fat is all the toxins our body has collected as we gained, as sometimes, as we loose, stalls (like yours and mine!) is our bodies working hard to eliminate those toxins from storage. Spring cleaning, so to speak. Its absolutely normal. Frustrating yes. But not without purpose. If nothing else its giving you renewed determination. Relax! (I think I tell you to relax every time I comment.... hmmm.)

Looks like you've got a plan. I weighed less at my doctor's office in the afternoon then I did at home in the morning after peeing and before anything else. WTH??? My doctor started laughing and told me to throw the scale away...
:bang: Then sometimes I feel entitled to be sloppy b/c I've "done so good". Just gotta hop back on the trail instead of wandering off the reservation....
