I knew it would happen eventually but now it's finally started.
The point where people start to give me disapproving looks and "get worried" about my weight loss.
I keep telling folks I have about 10-15 lbs left to lose and I've gotten the following assortment in the past few weeks:
"Are you sure that's healthy?"
"Do I have to worry about you becoming anorexic? That you'll never want to stop losing weight?"
"You look good just the way you are, I can't imagine you any thinner."
"You'll be nothing but skin and bones!"
"Don't be so focused on the number, you don't
need to lose anymore weight."
"Are you sure you're built to be that thin?"
"If you lose anymore weight you won't be able to maintain it"
"Where would those 10 lbs come from? You haven't got any extra fat on you. Be careful you don't lose muscle instead."
Oi Vay!
I'm taking the comments as gracefully as I can and I know I am looking good at the very size I'm at now, but I want to push myself for those last 10 lbs because I know I am perfectly capable to be healthy at that size. And if I don't get there, NO BIGGIE!
I'm not obsessed with the number, but I want to at least
try to get down to what I've been told by several "experts" is my "ideal" weight for my gender, age, and height.
Anyway, just griping. Water off a duck's back.
I'm still plugging along.
And FYI, there is PLENTY still to lose from my belly, butt and thighs. I know EXACTLY where those last 10 lbs are going to come off!!

I never cease to be amazed how many people have NO concept of BMI. That's what I tell people I'm using to set my goal weight but most of the time they just don't get it...

Try not to worry about it Nicole. I've gotten a few of those comments also. Those people don't know the journey we've been on. Those of us here on CK know exactly where you're coming from. Because we know better than a lot of others where you were before. And they haven't seen you naked. (or so I'm assuming!
:P) I agree, I know EXACTLY where my last 10 lbs. will come from!

They are all well meaning folks, I am sure, but you will know when you get to where you want to be and if you're losing weight in a healthy manner and with good eating habits then your body will regulate where you should be at with your weight. Way to be a duck girl, just let it roll right off of you!

Just smile at them but don't say anything, that's what I do. My father in-law is the worst he always says "You can't be that heavy! Where do you put it all?"
 brovo to you and keep it up. You can do it

Sometimes I listen to them saying things like "You look fine the way you are" and I starting laughing.
I'm not laughing because I think I'm fat I'm laughing because they think I do.
Silly people

If we listened to other people, we would be looney. To each his own. Others just have a hard time with change, but they will quickly adjust.

I hear ya, those people drove me a little nuts at first. When you do get to goal weight though, and have been there for a while, the comments will stop. I think people just start to get used to it. And to the people who think you can't maintain 145, I say PISH POSH! Everyone said that to me about 127 and I've been maintaining at 125 for half a year now with no problem.

I think people get so used to seeing us one way and when we change it's harder for them to accept than ourselves.

I got the same comments when I hit 162 which at my height is still overweight and a size 12 is not a skinny girl. Before I gained the weight (8 years ago) I was 139-143 and a size 8/10. Looked good and no one said I was too thin. Friends/Family that knew me at that weight did not think anything about my desire to lose more. It sounds like you have a heatlhy attitude about your ultimate goal - go for it and don't worry what others say!
