Monday, Jul 5 2010 - As I get closer to goal...
View PLATEOFSTARS's food & exercise for this day
As I get closer to my goal weight it is becoming so tempting to not log my calories, or not as diligently or consistently.
The upside to this is that I am practiced enough that I have a good sense of how many calories I am consuming (because I'm still losing weight despite the lack of good logging) and have some hope for a future of not logging at all.
But I have to be careful... this is precisely the time where I need to log the most carefully because my metabolism is changing practically by the minute.
My body doesn't require nearly as many calories as it used to and pretty soon I am going to lose all concept of actually how many calories I need to maintain, if I don't log better.
I want to get to my goal weight and be able to stay there.
Here I am,
recommitting to good logging.
And here I am, a picture from yesterday at Pride Toronto in a faux hawk and a bikini top (ha! there you go Rick!).

HOTTIE ALERT! HOTTIE ALERT!!!!!!
I know what you mean about the logging. I'm getting close to goal too and it's tough. I'm recomitting to faithful logging this week. It seems that I'm fine to maintain without a SUPER tight grip on logging (logging in my head, logging half days and not logging dinner, etc) so long as I don't go off the reservation, so to speak. BUT, to lose this last five pounds is going to require some major committment to the log.

The song that popped into my mind when I saw your smashing photo was Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
It's great the way you've capitalized on your weight loss and made it about so much more. I think your effort and the way you've documented it here has been inspiring for a lot of CK members.
Congratulations.

Every time today I heard that song with the lyrics of *daisy dukes and a bikini top* (or something like that - California Girls ??) I thought of you....

Nicole I love the picture! And I'm so envious! I have scars that kind of ruined the "natural" look of my belly button so a bikini (even just the top) will never be on this body. You look amazing though, way to go!!

Great pic! I log about 90% of the time. Depends on time etc. Sometimes I just do a check in type of drive by. You should use this as your after pic!

Awesome picture! As for me, I'll be logging my calories every day even when I do reach maintenance. It's a must for me. :-)
