View PLATEOFSTARS's food & exercise for this day

So I've been kind of pissy for the past 6 weeks... of course I know it gets more and more difficult to lose weight as you get closer to your goal weight, but I've been feeling like "come ON already!" with these previous 5 lbs. Breaking into the 150's seemed like it might never happen.

Doing my happy dance today... 159.2 baby! :thumbu2:

Had an interesting conversation this morning about weight loss and control... and how I can recognize that my mentality and my relationship with exercise and food has changed. That I seldom turn to food in times of stress, in fact, the opposite. I've been finding that my first impulse is, instead of opening the fridge, is to go for a run.

That I also, when I find everything else in my life is out of control, pay especially diligent attention to my weight loss. That I use the control I feel over my weight as a substitute for the loss of control I feel in other areas.

While this has been moderately successful in the past, I need to be careful with this in the future. I obviously can't rely on losing weight once I hit my goal weight, to make me feel in control of my life.

Anyway... some food for thought for today.

Overall just happy to have broken into the 150s. I'm in the home stretch! :rock1:

I posted on the forums yesterday that I've decided I won't push myself any lower than 150. I had initially thought to go for somewhere between 140 and 145 but I think I need to stop at 150 and give my body some time to accomodate to the new weight... give myself some time to get used to maintaining my weight. Get used to what I look like.

So here we go... NINE pounds left...

can you believe I've officially lost 102 lbs since my highest weight?? :afraid4:

Nicole, that's so wonderful. I am sure you are dancing up a storm. Please do not get discouraged if your weight bounces for a few days. It's not permanent. Also, anyone who loses 100+ pounds is a hero to me!! Congratulations!!

AMAZING, Nicole! Congrats on getting into the 150s. I've been impatient for weeks about the 140s! I keep seeing a little phantom 148 the day after my long run, then it hops right back up. UGH!

Anyhow, enough about me, lets talk about you! You are AMAZING and your hard work is paying off ridiculous dividends. I think it's great you've decided to up the initial goal, I did the same thing. That goal weight is just a guess anyhow. You look SIZZLING!
