Thursday, Jan 6 2011 - I'm Back (I think)!
View PLATEOFSTARS's food & exercise for this day
So,
I've taken a bit of a break from Calorie King the past few months while I dealt with some other stuff going on in my life. I've done really well at maintaining my weight and I think a huge reason for that is that I work out so much. I haven't had to pay diligent attention to what and how much I'm eating because I run/weight train/play soccer/play ball hockey/do yoga/walk enough that I more than burn off any excess food calories.
I'm going to refocus now though... not on weight loss but on weight training. I am hesistant to use the expression "body building" for fear of conjuring images of a thick neck, oiled abs, vaseline smile, and fake boobs. Not the look I'm going for.
I want to start looking at how to optimize my weight training experience and how to make sure I am eating the very best and optimal diet (while being vegan) to continue to sculpt and tone my body without losing muscle mass.
So I think tracking my diet is in order again... and great thing that CK gives a great breakdown of nutrients! It will help me to make sure I'm getting enough calories (who would have thought I'd ever be worried about not getting enough calories!!??

) and to make sure I'm getting my protein requirements.
So yeah! I'm baaaaaack!!

You already look so AWESOME, Nicole, but adding muscle will give your already fab body a nice toned look. Go for it!

Definitely don't have hopes to 'bulk up' but I do want to be a lot less willy nilly about my nutrient balance and my weight training. If I'm going to lift weights as often as I am, no point destroying those efforts by not eating to support the musle needs protein-wise.
:)
Appreciate those who want to help me keep-it-real, but I do enough of that on my own.

Yep, what Rachel said. Just for informational stuff check out Pauline Nordin. Remember she is cut for the pro pictures but you might be able to glean some info off of her site. http://www.fwscreen.com/fwscreen.com/M%26O_Grill.html
Just happened upon her site...

It's impossible for 99% of women to gain a ton of muscle and to have anything but a lean, non-bulky look. We don't make enough testosterone for one, and we don't eat 300 grams of protein a day either. Body build away!
