It's interesting being in "weight loss mode" again.
I guess I officially stopped losing weight and put myself into maintenance in August last year.... I maintained my weight fairly successfully these past 6 months but I've gained back about 10 pounds in the last 3 months.
That's about 10% of my original efforts!
It took me a while to finally admit that I'd gained the weight and my original approach at losing what I'd gained did not involve getting on a scale to see exactly how much I'd gained and did not involve tracking my calories and did not involve setting any real tangible goals or sharing them with anyone.
So, yeah, my original approach, OF COURSE, didn't work.
So here I am - back in the saddle. I know how to do this. I am super bummed that I've gained the weight but I refuse to let myself gain ANY MORE by not admitting, not facing, and by being complacent.
I'm hopping on the scale twice a week, tracking my calories and setting/sharing goals.
And just as it always has in the past... it's working.
I'm down 2 pounds since last week.
This week will be tough given that it's my birthday and there will be many celebrations but I had a birthday last year during weight loss mode and still lost weight, so I can do it again.
No excuses for me!

I love coming back to logging after an extended absence. CK never guilt-trips you.

You have all the tools you need to take off those other 8 lbs., and you CAN survive the birthday festivities this week (happy birthday!!!). Just have a single bite of whatever loved ones shove in front your face, and then proceed with your portion-and-calorie appropriate pre-planned meal. You GOT this! And if you're still feeling birthday-food deprived, pamper yourself with a spa treatment instead.

Isn't it great that you have so much experience that you can count on yourself to be successful? Little slip ups happen and how smart of you to get on it before it became a bigger problem. Love the pic!
