I ran my first race today and completed 5k in 27 mins 30 seconds.
I am SO FREAKIN PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!
The first week of January I suffered through alternating running one minute and walking one minute... and thinking running was the worst exercise in the world.
I am starting a 10K training clinic next week.
I am a new woman!!!!!

I've been noticing some changes lately... not that there has been a lot of change in the past 3-4 weeks but that I think I'm finally catching up with noticing where I've been changing all along.
Most noticeable to me are my bones. My hip bones, my knees, my elbows, my spine, my wrists, my collarbone. I never even noticed them before. Now, I even have to say that sometimes they get in the way. My knees kind of nob against each other in certain positions which they have never done before ...

So,
I'm stuck. I haven't been able to bust through this 3 pound barrier between 182-185 for more than 3 weeks. It's not a plateau and I'll tell you why.
I'm eating too much!
Darn!!!!!
It can be such a delicate balance when you increase your exercise level to then find out how much you can increase your food level. I've been totally not diligent at all with my food intake since I've been increasing my running and doing more weight training. Which is ridiculous because at...

One of my "mini" goals for this year was to get into the 170s by March. I'm not quite there three days into March... but this morning - the scale... for a split second read "179.9" before landing on 180.2.
SO CLOSE!!!
That's DEFINITELY going to keep me motivated this week to stay on track with the exercise and laser eye vision on my food.

I SO can't believe I'm becoming a runner.
Running was my "green eggs and ham" for years. I was incredibly pessimistic about running and would go on an on about what a waste of time it was and wonder how anyone would put up with the tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, pressure on their knees, etc etc.
But I love it! I really really do!
Last night I was out with my running group and near the end of our third set of 10 mins running/1 min walking I just took off.....
