Tuesday, Jan 26 2010 - Week one Day one repeat....
View PRNCSSGRL's food & exercise for this day
I did the first week first day c25k podcast run again this morning. I know it says to do it 3 days a week but for this first one I'm going to try and do it every day for two weeks since I was pretty much doing that on the treadmill on a daily basis.
It was still pretty tough but now that I've been through the podcast once I sort of knew what to expect. Yesterday I timed it so that I ended pretty close to my home but this morning when the podcast ended I was still at least 6 blocks from my house so got in a little extra outside time. I feel my thought processes changing. I'm thinking more about making better choices and my next exercise time rather than when can I sit and play video games for 8 hours. I'm thinking more about taking 30 minutes and walking around my work neighborhood than watching hulu.com on my lunch break. I'm thinking about having granola bars and apples to snack on rather than the cakes and cookies that the other office people always bring in.
Today I got on the scale and it read 252.2. While the number isn't all that important today what is important was that it's my "girl" time and by now I've usually gained a few pounds but I haven't seen them yet. I'm wondering if I did actually gain those "girl" pounds back and I've actually got more of a weight loss than I first anticipated. I will know for sure a week from now lol.
I see I'm starting to have a positive influence on my husband. I feel so bad for him because he has degenerative joint damage in his feet and some days are so painful to even just walk a few steps but I see him making small changes here and there. He's lifting weights more and open to my small but helpful changes happening in the house. I changed the mayonnaise to a canola based mayo (half the calories) and at first he complained that it wouldn't taste right. Today he came up to me and said "it's pretty good". I've taken all the sweets out of the house and replaced them with fruit packs (80 cals), granola bars (90 cal), yogurt (100 cal) and sugar free pudding (70 cal) and just plain old delicious fruit. He's pretty content as long as he can continue to snack. I stopped buying diet coke and started drinking water with dinner. He too is following suit.
One small thing at a time eventually leads to GREAT BIG THINGS!!

I've been doing some of the same, replaced mayo with light mayo still tastes the same to me, replaced regular cheese with fat free cheese, and so on. I've been buying some of the sugar free snacks like ice cream and chocolate pudding. That's good news to see he's still supporting you and even being open minded to trying the new healthy foods.
I don't know what a podcast run is, sounds demanding though.

You are doing great! Keep it up... Wow the podcast run... I give you lots of credit for tackeling that one... I just discovered that I won't die if I do the elliptical, so this is week 2 that I am tackeling that baby and I am holding my own...lol...
Great to hear your hubby is starting to change too! It helps so much when you have someone to do this with!
I love my sugar free pudding, try adding just a drop of ff coolwhip to it.. yum & I also like sugar free Jello that baby is only 10 calories and at night for my bed time treat I have weight watchers ice cream bars that about 130 cal. or sugar free italian ice and they are about 60 cal..
I love finding new treats!
