Thursday, Jan 18 2007 - Today I feel tired
View ROCKINCHICK's food & exercise for this day
I had a good workout at Curves but I am so tired this morning. While at Curves last night my legs ached while working out, I didn't push myself as hard but I finished the entire circuit and stretched. Today while going for my 15 min walk I was dragging. Why are my legs so tired?
Had a pastry again this morning for breakfast. Was not prepared and ate it anyway. So now I used alot of needless calories on something that was high in fat. I am not going to pout about it. I am moving right along. I will just drink more water, if I think about it.
Today is Taco Salad Bar day at work. A group of us bring an item to share and it cuts the cost and we enjoy a good lunch time meal. So looking forward to it.
No Curves tonight. I have a meeting with the Women's Ministry to help with the Superbowl Party committee. We are sponsoring it so the Men can have a good time.
Check in is tomorrow. I am looking forward to being 202.5 or less. I am striving for 1.5 pounds a week.
Ok, now I am back to the junk food and I just can't quit. What can help me beat this need for sweets? I just had chocolate for the first time in 17 days (a record for me). Yesterday it all started with a bear claw, then a cinnimon roll followed by 3 miniature candy bars. Check in day is tomorrow, I just know I blew it with the 1.5 lbs. Check back later.

I've found that with me if I have something sweet - it may trigger eating things I didn't plan. One of the things they talked about in the Insulin Resistent Diet that applies to everyone is that your body has to decide in 2 hours what to do with the carbohydrates. What you can't use in that time, it will store. (generally no more than 30 grams of carbs at one sitting is suggested) If it's just a carbohydrate without any protein, or concentrated sweets - like a bear claw - you'll have a blood sugar surge - lots of insulin released (too much) and then end up very hungry. It kind of sets off a bad cycle. The key is to stop it before it starts. I don't know if this will help, but I hope so.

The taco salad bar sounds delicious! I
 Mexican food. Have you tried 100 calorie packs? I eat sweets and chocolate every day. The 100 calorie packs help me to stay within calorie limits. I also buy the Jello sugar free 60 calorie chocolate pudding and put a little cool whip over it with a 100 calorie pack. Mmmmmmm! I get into trouble when I pick up a whole bag of rice cakes, wheat thins or a box of cereal. I should never be allowed to hold a container holding more than one serving of food!

My legs get achey too when I'm working out regularly--I think it's a sign from God that you need a day off!
:)
Good luck with your check in!!
