Thursday, Feb 22 2007 - I hope to do better today . . .
View ROCKINCHICK's food & exercise for this day
Thanks ladies for all your hugs and encouragement yesterday. I was just so much in a funk.
Hugs back to all of you. I have gotten up and yes Becky dusted the powdered sugar off.
I am sort of sad today have been for a few days. My son Nick that left home last August after an argument with us is weighing so heavy on my mind. He is still only 17. I have to admit the house is quieter and my daughter is happier but I am still haunted by missing him. There is a song that came out recently from a band called 7th Day Slumber. They are awesome in the Christian Rock world. Well the song is called Missing Pages and the entire song is about his friend who has decided to walk down a wrong path with addictions and sin so the walls are built up and he lives in a self contained prison.
The chorus goes something like this:
No one knows you anymore, your locked inside the walls you've built
No one knows you anymore, a prison deep within your soul
There is one who sees it all, who gives you life you've never dreamed
He can see the pain
Underneath your skin
So the song goes on but every time I hear it the tears roll cause it reminds me of my precious son. If you want to hear a sample go to thier Myspace Music page and click on the music track. Let me know what you think.
My dh just got up. I have to get ready for work now.
I will do my best to not overeat. I have no planned lunch so we will see how that will go.
Blog more later...

What a beautiful song! I am sorry that you miss Nick. I hope that he will come back to you after he gets through the rebellious late teenage years. My older son is 20 and we get along so much better now that he is older.

It is all about self for us....self-esteem, self-love, self acceptance, self approval . Taking care of us is NOT selfish. It is not about putting ourselves first, but we become better and improve our lives and those around us by doing so.
You are worth every minute of every day of your time and love.
Kathy, like the rest of us, do your best and it is good enough. That is all we can do. You have a friend here, and you are a friend to me.
