Sunday, Feb 25 2007 - It's a new day
View ROCKINCHICK's food & exercise for this day
God says in His word that His mercies are new each morning. Well thanks to Teej

I am going to look at each new day as a fresh start to something miraculous. Wether it be drinking all my water, exercising, or just staying within my net calories. Achieving this one day at at ime will be a great milestone for me.
Today being Sunday I am normally at church then come home and do a couple loads of laundry then plan dinner. We also watch the race which of course is TIVO'd so we don't miss a second.
Today is different than a typical Sunday. My oldest son needs help cleaning out his storage so my husband is borrowing a work truck (they look like a uhaul) and going to there to take the stuff to his apartment. I get to stay home (woo hoo). I have been so in need of a day with no daughter and no hubby and not having to be somewhere else. I am spending the day doing mounds and mounds of laundry as well as making homemade chicken enchiladas. It's a Tyler Florence recipe that just looks wonderful with sides of black beans and yellow rice.
I will probably do some tidying up of a couple areas while I am waiting for the machines to do their work. I just have to remind myself to stay off the computer except to log what I eat and drink today. I get to actually listen to music in stead of the TV blaring. TV distracts me from other things, music moves me.
I just want to add a special thank you too all my CK friends that read, comments and PM me with your encouraging words and stories. I just love them and most of time do not have a moment to write back to you but I do read them all and soak it all in. I love all of you with the most sincere heart. I take your advice and well wishes and constantly think about them along with Gods word it all comes together to make this journey possible.
I need to share this about obesity. My father in-law is a 450 pound 5'2" man. He was recently hospitalized this week for a breathing problem then the hospital released him, they did not wheel him out to his waiting vehicle so he ended up getting dizzy and falling breaking his upper left arm (he is left handed). We went down yesterday to visit him and help him around the house. I did the laundry and dishes ( the laundry was putred sp?). He cannot clean him self and always smells this is even before the broken arm. Well my husband (bless his God loving heart) had to wash him yesterday, EVERYWHERE. Well you just can't get the smell off of him. He is so heavy he always had a bad smell on his body. People let this be a warning to all of us to get healthy so this never happens to us and we don't have to put our children through this. My daughter had to go down with us. She then said at the end of the day that she is going to have to do this to me when I get older. I told her that I will not be heavy like Grandpa and God willing won't ever break my arms for her to have to do this.
My younger son came for a visit last night. Our house was so loud and so buzzing that he was trying to share that he wanted us (the family) to spend his 18th birthday with him going bowling or something. Well, I didn't guite hear him and that hurt him he thought I was ignoring him. I told him that I can't hear everyone when the TV is blarring and everyone is talking. He then realized I didn't do it intentionally. I love him and wouldn't hurt him.
Well, I need to break away from here or nothing will get started. You all have a great Sunday.

Wow Kathy!! You truly have a LOT on your proverbial plate! It is very difficult and heart-breaking to take care of loved ones. My heart goes out to you with FIL. I hope he heals quickly. Who knows...maybe you can inspire him to do something about his weight too.
:) Wouldn't that be kinda cool to go take him for a quick walk each day? Not sure how close you live to him though. Anyway, you hang in there. Don't forget to take a little time for you along the way. Staying busy is good because it keeps your hands and mind busy and away from eating, but you also need time to stop...sit down...have a cup of tea or a real meal. As for son, I think the bowling party would be an awesome non-food related way to celebrate his birthday!!! Maybe plan to have a healthy meal before you go. At any rate...we're here for ya.

You and hubby are so wonderful to help out your father-in-law. I know that you will be healthy for your daughter. I have faith in you. We have a lot in common today! I am doing laundry and I made Mexican pizzas and I'm cleaning up! Take care.
