Sunday, Dec 28 2008 - Glad to be home
View ROCKMOM2's food & exercise for this day
11:30 pm--
We got home from Arkansas around 6:00 pm tonight. It was a great trip, but feels really good to be home!
BEST THING THAT HAPPENED OVER THE HOLIDAY--My 16 year old daughter was saved
she gave her life to her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Hubbys niece was the one who shared this experience with her
she truly is a changed child! Will it be a cure for everything, no, but she has apologized more in the last 3 days than she had in the last 3 months. Both of us have started our relationship FRESH! It is so AWESOME! It is now more important than ever for me to remain an example of a faithful follower. This is my prayer for myself for the coming months!
Food for the holiday - didnt do great, but got on the scale when I got home today, with all my clothes on and saw 160.4...it will be much less than that tomorrow so I am happy with whatever it shows. I was at 156.4 on the 23rd
it will not be that low, but I started December at 159.0...I do believe I will finish December lower by 2-4 pounds than 159; so somewhere around 155-157.
I did exercise the past few days
.very proud of myself for that. Over 10 miles in 5 days
exercised more than every other day, so that is REALLY good, since I tend to take a day of rest between running
this time I walked.
I got the Polar F11 from my folks but have almost decided to look into something a little more advanced. I also wanted a interval watch and the F11 does not have that ability. Not sure what I will end up with, but need to return the Polar even if I decide to keep it---it is the mens style and I want the smaller ladies version---probably silly, but they are prettier. I may look into the Garmin
since I am running outside, it might be fun to see how it works. Would be great for the 5K on Jan 10th. Still have to look at the options of others, I even saw a Timex the other day that looked cool.
Work this week---will be very stressful. I own my own business and Mon and Tues are the final days I will have full time employees. I have had to close down production due to lack of business. Also have to search for a smaller building to bring down costs. Not a good time for small business owners and their employees. Need to find ways to get through this.
I have my own therapist that I plan to see twice a month. I already see how it helps and how I have not allowed myself to have boundaries.
Daughter still has body image, individual therapy and her dietician to see weekly. She is also failing 5 of her 7 subjects. My therapist as well as her school counselor and her individual therapist have all said to let her fail so we are not even discussing it with her or punishing her
her punishment will be summer school or repeating 10th grade
yuck!
I am off to bed soon! Need my beauty/weight loss sleep! SOOOO GLAD TO BE BACK TO MY CK FRIENDS!

Welcome back, Vicki. I've missed you. I'm so happy for you about your daughter. That is great news...or should I say "good news" lol. I agree with Jelly about the book "Boundaries", BTW.

WONDERFUL! for your daughter. I'm new here and you are an inspiration. I look much like your before picture. I hope I can get the initiative to exercise like you have. a 5K.. that's great! At 196 lbs. I probably couldn't walk 5k in a day.

I hope that you're daughter finds whatever it is she's looking for. Glad to hear you had a nice holiday. I can only imagine what it's like right now owning a small business. Stay positive. This has to get better soon.

Vicki, I know you are so proud of your daughter. I am sure you have been a great example to her and you will continue the path. There will be dips and valleys for you two to get thru but you are on the right track. Glad you had a good trip. I was out of contact over the long weekend and I am glad to be back too. Missed you.

Welcome back. Congratulations on the breakthrough with your daughter. I hope you continue to see progress. And congrats on continuing your walking/running. I know it's hard to keep it up when traveling. Sorry to read about your business downsizing. That's got to be tough! It's amazing how much the economic change has impacted just about everyone I know. Take care of yourself!

I am so glad to hear that about your daughter. We have to let them fail sometimes. It is SO hard, I know. There is a really great book out there you may benefit from... it is called "Boundaries" by Townsend. I enjoyed it. It comes with a workbook, well you can buy the workbook. There is also a book I
 and need to read again that you may like too "the courage to be yourself." I am planning on re-reading this one. We seem awfully similar. No wonder I like you so much!
