Saturday, Jan 31 2009 - FINALLY BACK FROM THE BLAHS!
View ROCKMOM2's food & exercise for this day
It seems like it has been forever since I have posted. I dont really even know why. I just got sort of out of sorts and didnt really want to participate in much of anything
just getting done what was necessary
even though I was still logging (for the most part) and exercising.
Today was my first day of the Runners Group at our local Lukes Locker running store. I was pretty nervous to see how I was grouped, etc. It was GREAT! Hubby actually went last week and got my running schedule for the past week. (It was much less difficult than I have been doing). I followed it for the most part, adding just a few minutes a couple days. (Hubby joined the walkers part of the group). It is great to get to go with my hubby even though we are in different groups. He had a 4 mile walk today in did it in 58 minutes!!! My group was only did a 30 minute 10 min/walk-10 min/run-10 min/walk. It was not difficult at all. I think the stretches before and drills after were the hardest part. I have never done much of that, so I think I may feel it a little tomorrow (a good feel though).
One of the leaders of my group was telling me she had done a marathon and was going to do Disney AGAIN. She said she walked the whole thing the first time in a little over 7 hours. I know I could do that, but may have to wait until daughter is out of high school since it is during the school year, not during a break and I cant very well go someplace like Disney World without the fam! I am very excited about all of you here on CK that are signed up already
Steph/Sunny/Roger and I know there are more.
Planning for a 5K or 10K the end of February. It is called the Cowtown Shuffle, in Fort Worth. I hope to get the whole family doing the 5K..that would be the reason I would not do the 10K
so I could be with them
thoughts on that?
Our Saturday group has its own 5K on February 14th. Hubby and I will get to do that, but it is a benchmark race so I will have to do my best : )
Some stats that I missed last week, only putting them here as a reference for myself.
1/23 - 3.6 miles / 17:38 pace
1/24 - 6 miles / 13:39 pace
1/26 - 3.5 miles
1/27 - 2 miles
1/28 - 2 miles
1/29 - 2 miles
1/31 - 2.75 miles / 14:31 pace
TOTAL
15.9 miles - Not very many, but I had the blahs so I am VERY proud that I did this!!!
I am back at it and will not be derailed during February!
Can't wait to see you all in the forums again!

I just told my husband tonight that I was going to find your journal because I missed your posts last week. I also had an off-week, but thankfully am starting February on the right foot.
I think you are doing amazing. You were out running nearly everyday. The group sounds great. I wish I could do that... our girls are 2 1/2 so it is all we can do to work, pick them up and keep them busy when we get home. I would love the camaraderie, and the coaching. Let us in on the secrets you pick up.
Glad to see you back. You were sorely missed.

Almost 16 miles in a week. That's awesome!
:thumbu2: And it's great that you're inspiring others in your family to run and get in shape, too.
