I FEEL LIKE A RUNNER!

Tuesday, March 24th 2009

OK, today was a GREAT run day! The instructions from my running group were a little complicated and involved certain ways of breathing. I didn’t understand it so just decided to do the 10 min easy jog/ 15 min jog / 10 min easy jog…It was AMAZING.

Here is how it broke out:

10 min - .79 miles/ avg pace 12:39
15 min - 1.36 miles / avg pace 11:02 ( I am SOOO excited…I WILL get to 10:00 min miles!!!)
10 min - .77 miles / avg 12:55

Then I walked for the remainder of 5 miles:

How easy it is to forget that we ate something when we eat it on the run...

Yesterday I was trying to eat when I "felt" hungry...didn't plan for it though so stopped at Taco Bueno and got black beans/chips/salsa...not too bad, but I FORGOT TO LOG IT!

Then, last night when I had calories left...I thought, I ate sugar full bars (fiber too/but still)...to get to my calories, even with using all my exercise calories from yesterday I was still over by nearly more than 500 calories...

Wednesday, March 11th 2009

I have to say, tonight is the first time I really felt like a “runner”. It is pouring rain and in the 40s…weather like this required me to get back on my trusty treadmill. I haven’t been on the TM in more than a month. I used to LOVE the TM and thought people were crazy that liked outside better. I really like both. Both have advantages in my opinion. I say I am slow, well, I really am. I walked 2 min at 3.5/mph and ran 26 min at 4.7 and walked 2 at 3.5. I didn’t ever really get tir...

COWTOWN SHUFFLE 5k

Monday, March 2nd 2009

2nd 5K was AWESOME!

New PR 11:52/M

Barely beat my previous time of 12:03/M

I feel really good about my time though, there were over 6,000 folks in this run and it was much more hilly that I am used to. Also a very windy day. Very cold! With that many people it was a constant back and forth sideways if you wanted to pass anyone. There were 16,000 folks competing in 6 races - Maraton, Ultra Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids 5K! --WILDNESS!

It was a GREAT time! My Hu...
