Wednesday, Jun 30 2010 - Better day today...can happen when you are without a car in an office with NO food!

HA! Well, I managed to keep my calories in check today, but failed miserably in the water dept. Am still up at 10:45 trying to consume another 32 oz....yikes!
Car is in the shop across from my office with the transmission being fixed. YUCK! Oh well, be fixed tomorrow. I didn't plan to be there for 5 hours today, so didn't take anything with me and was parched and starved when hubby picked me up.
Decided today...well, been thinking about it...have been in the new training program at the running store since June 10th but hadn't commited to running or walking or training for 1/2 or full marathon...made my decision today for sure!
I will be training to walk/run...mostly walk the White Rock Marathon in Dallas in December! I am very excited; my goal was to do a full marathon at 50 yrs old...I will turn 50 in October, so this will be perfect! I have not been excited about running since completing 3 half marathons in 5 months...I did it and know now that I CAN DO IT...now on to the marathon.
The thing I have to remember is that I CANNOT EAT JUST BECAUSE I AM TRAINING FOR A MARATHON!!!! Eating is not a REWARD system!
This is where BALANCE comes in for me....balance may be the most difficult thing for me to achieve in my life! I am definitely realizing how much of an ALL or NOTHING person I can be.
So for me, BALANCE is what it is all about...my quest to achieve it in all areas of my life. Thanks for following/sharing my journey to a balanced life!

Way to Go Vicki!!! A whole marathon! 26.2! You CAN do it! I had a friend who did her first one at 65 years old..she went on to do 3 more before she stopped...She loved it...the last one she did I was there to watch her cross the finish line and cheer for her (Disney World)
