Instead of a motivational quote today, I thought I'd share a recipe that I find very funny. =D You have to read the instructions to get the joke.

Christmas Cookie Recipe

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 large bottle Crown Royal

- Sample the Crown Royal to check quality.
- Take a large bowl, check the Crown Royal again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.
- Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
- Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again.
- At this point it's best to make sure the Crown Royal is still OK, try another cup...just in case.
- Turn off the mixer thingy.
- Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
- Pick the frigging fruit off floor...
- Mix on the turner.
- If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a dewscriver.
- Sample the Crown Royal again to check for tonsisticity.
- Next, sift two cups of salt, or something.... who giveshz a sheet.
- Check the Crown Royal.
- Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts
- Add one table.
- Add a spoon of ar, or somefing.... whatever you can find.
- Greash the oven.
- Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.
- Don't forget to beat off the turner.
- Finally, throw the bowl through the window.
- Finish the bottle of Crown Royal.
- Make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

Cherry Mistmas!

Couch to 5k, Week 3 Day 1
I was supposed to do W1D3 today of the C25K program, but I felt like I could do more than was required so I stepped up the W3D1 today and it felt really good. Here's my summary ...

A) 5.0 min warm-up
B) 1.5 min jog
C) 1.5 min walk
D) 3.0 min jog
E) 3.0 min walk
F) Repeated B-E two more times
G) 3.0 min jog
H) 5.0 min cool-down

40 min. total, 2.90 miles, 468 calories, avg. pace: 13:47 min/mile, avg. speed: 4.35 miles/hr

Health Status
I gave into the sour cream and onion chips when I got home last not, but I was able to restrain myself from eating the rest of the bag. I did do some damage though. The chips along with the chocolate covered pretzels put me pretty far over the target calorie count for yesterday. I did get up and run this morning, so I don't feel so bad about splurging a little last night. I'm not sure what's for dinner tonight. The wife and I are e-mailing back and forth to figure something out. It might be nice just to get out of the house and eat out tonight. I have some calories to spare and the wife (Dawn) deserves a night off from cooking dinner (especially after making nearly 500 choc. pretzels and 8 dozen cookies :)).

Miscellaneous Ramblings
Daddy's Little Girl
Well, I have to face the fact that my little girl is growing up. Kayla is 12 yrs. old now going on 16 (if you know what I mean). This morning when she came out of the bathroom, i saw that she had put some light blue eye shadow on. I said, "What's wrong with your eyes, it looks like somebody hit you." :) I always tease her about wearing make-up, but I always let her know she looks pretty. It's hard to believe how fast the kids grow up. You gotta love 'em every moment you get.

Locker Room Vocab Lesson
I'm sure you've overheard plenty of conversations in the locker room at the gym. In the guys locker room it's mostly talk about the latest sports news (currently football or hockey). I heard this older gentleman talking about how things have changed from "his day" in sports. He mentioned various things like salary and players attitudes. He went on to say that football is the most disciplined sport out of them all. He said that the players are more coachable and then he said this, "but, you'll always have your wackado's." From the context, I would think that a wackado is a rebel; someone who breaks the rules, etc. Anyone else ever heard this term wackado? :tongue10:

Habit Tracking
:) 8x8 Water - 9/21 days

:) Fiber over 25g - 4/21 days

Random Fact Sheet
-- I enjoy reading; mostly personal growth, business related and personal finance books. Some of my favorites are: Focus by Brian Tracy, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and Automatic Millionaire by David Bach.
-- I am routing for the Tennessee Vols in the Outback Bowl. They are playing Penn State. There are a lot of Penn State fans around here so I'm a lone ranger in this one.
-- For those of you who read my blog yesterday, I have a little stuffed Clifford the Big Red Dog on my desk at work.

Loved the recipe! LOL! I have enjoyed my sons as they have grown up. They are now 18 and 20. Every stage is interesting and fun I think. I can't say that it is all wonderful and fun, though. My 18 year old son is mad at us because we bought tires for the 2005 Honda Civic LX SE that we bought for him. We are making the car payment, paying the insurance, gas, everything. He wanted to buy rims for the car and choose different tires, but he has no money and the car needed tires! He has put 30,000 miles on the car in 15 months commuting to school, so it will need new tires again in no time.

Wackadoo..from the latin, whackjob...meaning wacky, nuts, disturbed. At least that's what my shrink keeps calling--ahem--telling me.

Scott if you don't have one already this is a great free site to log your miles. www.runningahead.com I know a few people on CK are over there as well. If you join feel free to check out my log I am OBRATS (imagine that). I started with that site about a month after I did the C25K but I wish I started while I was doing the pan so I could see exactly how many miles I have done this year.

Merry Christmas
