Saturday, Feb 7 2009 - Getting the hang of goals
View SIMKATHY's food & exercise for this day
I am getting better at setting goals and creating new challenges for myself instead of just putting down something very general that doesn't really relate to my ck process. Here is a perfect example:
Goal: See the scale tip below 167 at least once before next Saturday.
This is a perfect goal because seeing that number once is a prelude to going down a pound. And, since I am choosing to go more slowly, it can take a while to lose that pound but it is encouraging to dip down, even briefly, to keep myself encouraged.
I am also trying to follow the Polar F-11 program which has been designed for me based on my fitness level of 37-39. It's very very hard and it has taken some dedication to figure out the monitor. But I am intrigued and so I keep at it. I also realized that I will save tons of money if I go into retirement very fit.... it is possible to die healthy you know. I have seen people do this. It was inspiring. Not that I have death on my mind, just a philosophical conversation with myself.

Arlene: you'll be there before you know it. Last summer I couldn' imagine getting below the 180s...... he how did you change your handle? Usually one can't do that.

Good going Kathy. That's very logical thinking... I'm looking forward to getting into the 160's...
