Tuesday, Oct 23 2007 - Day 2 of Exercising...

View TICTOC's food & exercise for this day

I am just so happy that I signed up for the YMCA. Tonight I had my first appointment to learn about the strength training machines. I got everything all setup and I have been started out on six machines for now. I have an actual Personal Trainer for free! He can't stand side by side with me but he checks up on my workouts and helps me and every two weeks he checks what I have been doing and increases my weights and gives me a new set of machines to use. He was a cutie too and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. EVERYONE there is so SUPER NICE! I swear its the best I have ever felt since being here in NC. Every staff member was EXCEPTIONALLY NICE and it all seemed REAL not rehearsed. The members talk to you freely and I had so many people encouraging me I felt like a superstar! I even tried this class on this thingy... I can't describe it... it was like half of a ball and you had to balance yourself on it... it was tough to stay on the ball but the class was fun. I got invited to a SPINNING class on Saturday morning at 9:30! This lady had come out to get some water and she just started talking to me. She was saying the class was hard but you could go at your own pace. She told me the times and I felt honored. I mean here I was - obviously MUCH bigger than her and there was no way I even LOOKED HALF WAY like I could keep up in a spinning class but she invited me and was really trying to get me to commit to coming. I told her that I would check out the Saturday morning class and she was EXCITED! She said she would be there in the back of the class waiting for me... so I am going to try...

I logged my calories for the strength training and the treadclimber and this time I got the calories correct from the machine since CK doesn't have it listed as of yet. 262 calories in just 20 minutes! I burned so many calories exercising today that I may need to take my own advice with meeting my calorie goals! Altogether I burned 400 calories working out today.
But I want to wait just two weeks and see if eating my exercise calories back is a good idea. I think I really need the drop in calories briefly to jump start my weight loss back again. the body is so tricky... you have to really sorta play games with it when it comes to weight loss... so I have lost a total of 14 pounds since July 26. I gained back 2 pounds and I pretty much have been playing with those two pounds for a few weeks now. I know I eat enough calories because I am often over, from my guesstimate I think I really eat on average about 1800 calories....so to drop them a bit lower for a week or two should give me a good guideline as to what I need to do to keep losing weight. If I see my weight stall or should I say continue to stall then I will adjust. Since my cycle just went off on MOnday its kinda hard to say if my 250 has really sustained or not. Only time will tell now- well at least for the next two weeks that I monitor everything.

I am not sure if its possible to fall in love with exercising so soon... but I do know that I haven't felt so accomplished in a long time. Even when DHubby wasn't ready to go because he had started up a basketball game instead of sitting around waiting on him I went and jumped in another class for about 15 minutes. I just kept going. Even right now after eating my slice of pizza for dinner I wanted to go back and work it off! LOL... I feel like I can totally do this. I tell you, I have NEVER actually worked out two days in a row. I would do it one day and then plan to do it the next day but never do it. But the whole family was ready to go and it was so motivating. And even if they didn't want to go I would have went because I was so hype. The atmosphere is just so inviting...

At work today there was a little bookfair... I bought a Breast Cancer Awareness - Better HOmes and Garden Cookbook. It has more information about how to cook and cooking tools and tips and guides then it does recipes. It tells you all about the different cuts of meat and everything. It was $20 and I get a free subscription to Better HOmes and Gardens for a year.

so anyway... that's my day... nothing major at work- other than my daughter getting gum stuck on her thigh and me having to pick her up from daycare to help get it off. her skin was irritated but other than that she was fine.

WOW- I can actually eat something more if I want too... that's so weird to me... but I think i will get me another Edys Fruit bar...they are so good.. and only 80 calories. OH AND I ONLY ATE ONE SLICE OF PIZZA TONIGHT- I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I WAS FULL AFTER ONE SLICE!!!!

Inspiration? Look at YOU! (I still need to get on the exercise machine.) I'm heading off to put the kiddos in bed & hop on the machine after reading your blog!
