Wednesday, Jul 9 2008 - Do-Over Day
View TJKROWIORZ's food & exercise for this day
Wouldn't it be nice to have do-over option for those days when you are way way over? Like yesterday, I started out good. Walked on my lunch (1.2 miles). Picked up a chicken salad (which I thought would be a good choice). Went to a soccer game. Stopped at Hooters for dinner. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich - no fries, etc. I knew I had 400 calories appriximately left for dinner. (after that darn chicken salad - I forgot about the mayo) So what do I do? Ordered a mango daquiri without even thinking about it until I was about half way through it. I should know better too! LIGHT BEER ONLY if I want alcohol. DANG IT! Stupid thing has over 600 calories in it. JEEZ! Not that the cheese on the sandwich helped either...
Today is a new day. I am calling it a do-over.
Step One: Get up
Step Two: Go to gym
Step Three: Have a SENSIBLE morning snack
Step Four: Walk at lunch
Step Five: Eat a SENSIBLE lunch
Step Six: Have a SENSIBLE snack in the late afternoon
Step Seven: Take kids swimming after work
Step Eight: Take a walk while kids at soccer practice
Step Nine: Eat a SENSIBLE supper
Step Ten: Walk AWAY from the kitchen
Step Eleven: Have a fudgesicle before the ten o'clock news
Step Twelve: Go to bed without passing through the kitchen!
All good programs have twelve steps that are theoretically easy to follow. This shall be my twelve step program for the day. In all reality the only steps that should change on a daily basis is step seven and eight. Maybe one step should be No Alcohol other than light beer. I have a hard time with summer drinks. They are just so darn good and yet so darn full of calories!
So... I got up (step one) and went to the gym (step two) and am well on may way to completeing step three (I have an apple on my desk just waiting). I have my tennies under my desk waiting for lunch. I primed the kids for swimming so that will be awfully hard to back out of. Right about now I am saying the Serenity Prayer in my head, it seems appropriate!
Wish me luck!
