Wednesday, Jan 16 2008 - I have weaknesses
View TLO's food & exercise for this day
ok, blog entry 2. i have weaknesses. i hate exercise(more on this later) and i can't watch a movie at the theatre without popcorn. i'm like pavlov's freakin' dogs!!! the previews start and my mouth starts watering like hurricane flippin' hattie. i can't control it! i give in everytime. looks like i'll be limiting my movie visits.
on the exercise front, it's never been my thing. i did sports as a child, but even then i hated running. walking is ok, but boring.
i always find a way to talk myself out of it.
looked at treadmills this weekend with the wifey, but to get one that won't break immediately under 429lbs will cost around 2 grand minimum.
then there's the cold weather.
anybody out there capable of a cyberfoot in the tail?
could use some motivation to move.
let me hear you ck!
on the positive front, i'm having little problem right now sticking to total calorie plan. usually under actually. my vbg from 2001 still holding strong, so still can only eat small amount at any one time.
grazing is under control.
peace out!

Helpful message #1: If you do what you did.. you'll get what you've got. Don't "not walk" because you don't have a treadmill at home. Start walking -somewhere- and get the treadmill to make walking exercise more convenient! ------- Since you're not a fan of walking, this might interest you: There is a DVD called "Walk Away the Pounds Express" (available from Walmart for about $13). It has some upper body exercises and different 'ways' of walking to keep things from getting boring. Check it out!

Hi Tony! Welcome to CK. As you "practice" your healthy diet and lifestyle, things will get easier. Think of it as strengthening your willpower muscle!!!! No one is perfect when they start out.
:)
Try taking some homemade popcorn to the movies. That's right, sneak it in. Tell your wife you CAN'T HAVE ANY POPCORN and that you have to eat the homemade stuff. Resolve! Sticking to your resolution will empower you to do it again, and again! This feels good, remember
As you modify your behaviors little by little, it WILL get easier. Exersise: is there a school with an indoor track close to you? A gym with a track? Half an hour a day of just walking (I saw in your last blog that you walk) can change your life. Worth the drive to a school or the gym fee for sure!!!! Good luck!

I have size 10 feet and they are kicking your tail! You MUST do this. I agree with Chris. Take your snack in somehow. Your wife must have a large purse to accomodate this task....You can do it....
:y:
 or enjoy. Keep the faith! Peace out!

About the TM. No matter what the cost, you are WORTH the investment. Buy it and get on it. Get yourself a tv to put in front of it if that will help or get an mp3 player. I used to read while I walked. I hated exercise and still do to a degree. Never stop searching for something that you could learn to

Hey, Tony! I have really big feet - so you'd definitely feel a cyberboot from me! But - have you tried the 100 cal. packs of Orville - popped and taken in a plastic baggie. Dang if I don't have one of those nearly every night and feel extremely virtuous for not going over calories or fat grams. Good luck. It is important for you and your family that you succeed here - and I am bettin' on you!

Can't figure out how to give ya a swift kick, I'll think on it though!
I can relate to the popcorn, I try eating before I go, taking healthy snacks, getting a large diet soda to sip constanly, but it NEVER works.... I NEED MY POPCORN! Our local theater sells a small box w/o butter for a dollar, I have accepted that I will be ordering popcorn when I go, no matter what, and I make sure to enjoy every bite (I don't share well either!!!) On a more positive note, I have been doing treadmill for two weeks and I am starting to not completely hate it, I have a small TV set-up and it faces a window, so I can usually keep my boredom under control. I have found that if I push myself to go harder my bordom goes away because I am too worried I will be sucked under the d*** thing and no one will find me for hours. Hang in there
