TODDSTANFIELD's CalorieKing blog

Thursday, Apr 10 2008 - A New Site (to me anyways)

View TODDSTANFIELD's food & exercise for this day

I just ran across The Daily Plate. http://www.thedailyplate.com

Seems to have more up-to-date food entries. They say they have 100,000. Calorie King says 50,000. But The Daily Plate allows user-submitted items and corrections. They say they are reviewed. http://tinyurl.com/4p58h5

Both have great mobile sites: http://twitter.com/toddstanfield/statuses/786511015

I think I will use both for now.

I actually joined TheDailyPlate a few weeks before switching to CalorieKing. Their pay service is lacking in just about every way. Their food tracking pages weren't laid out in a way that made sense, and their reporting is almost non-existant.

You are right about their foods, though. CalorieKing could take a lesson about the "food wiki" idea. Both sites really need to have more utilities for tracking exercise.

All of this really eggs me on to build my own diet and exercise tracking site.
