Today's email hint was in reference to fiber. My goal is to get in 35 grams of fiber daily. This is a challenge given the fact that I've had gastric bypass surgery. So, I've taken advantage of the fact that I like to snack and have come up with a trail mix recipe that actually allows me to be able to stand the taste of the Fiber One cereal

So, here ya go:
1/2 cu Fiber One cereal
3/4 cu Fiber One Honey Clusters
1/4 cu raisins
1 packet of Splenda (or whatever you prefer)
Put it in a baggie, shake it up and snack throughout the day...
If you're on the Weigh To Go plan, count as: 1 Fruit and 1 Starch
My reasoning for this is that the total calories are 290 of which almost all are carbohydrate. However, this mix contains a whopping 27 g of fiber which equates to 108 calories of the 290 not available for digestion... so, what's left is about 180 calories which would be equal to 1 fruit and 1 starch.

VERY lofty goal for your fiber intake! Way to go on creating this little snack. I think I need to give it a try. Do you share your food diary? I can't see it and would be interested in seeing how you manage to get the 35g of fiber a day.
