Well, the intensive workshop is finished and it's back to real life today. My niece and her family came down from VA and stayed with us Wed evening and Thurs. I had a great time and hope they did too. One of Austin's big attractions is the bat colony under the Congress Ave. bridge. Wed. night we went out for dinner at a place where we could see the bats fly out at dusk. Do you think they came out? I've never known the bats not to come out. Oh well.... no bats. Ok, first let me say that I'm spoiled. Usually when I go to conferences for work... they are fun, informative and for the most part relaxing. There are substantial breaks, a pretty long lunch hour and the evenings are all free. This week I've been an intensive communication skills (American Sign Language) workshop. It went for 9 hours on Sunday, 13 hours on Monday and 13 hours on Tuesday and continues through Thursday. Now, don't misunderstand. I'm having a great time and learning a lot, B...

Well, my tech savvy isn't what it needs to be to master picture related stuff. I've been trying to get a pic to show up next to my blog posts, etc. to no avail. I'm sure I'll eventually figure it out, but it's a tad frustrating this morning. I've got a lot to do today, so, I'd better get to it! We've had almost 50 straight days of rain (not complaining) and it's supposed to rain today too. So that cuts out the "outside" work though it looks like we live in a jungle! Wow, I cannot believe we have had 45 straight days of rain in usually hot and sunny Austin, TX. Flooding everywhere around this state. The guy on the news said the flood damage covers an area the size of the State of Mississippi. It's supposed to clear out of here by tomorrow. I'm sorry for all the devastation that people have experienced, 18-20 deaths, and who knows how many houses, cars, businesses, etc..
