It's been a few weeks since last blog so it's time to bring everyone up-to-date. Alot has been going on. First the Summer has been soooo hot here on Eastern Shore, MD. I've now been with CK for two months. It has been such a great choice for me.
I signed up my first 5K walk in mid-Sept. and I'm excited. It is local event and supports our local homeless shelter. Even 6months ago I would of never thought that I would be able to do such an event.
I've lost 30 lbs. as of this week since the end of March. I'm walking the treadmill daily and now walking the trail to get myself ready for the 5K. I can't even believe I'm saying 5K. I'm walking 2-3 miles 5 days a week. Then I added light weights for upper body strengthening recently too.
My life has turned the corner so much these last few months. I got a part time job couple days a week for something to do. It's a great little job. I work at a local family-owned Christmas shop. It's Christmas all year long for me. I've never worked retail and I love it.
I've had to revamp my clothes closet. I now can shop in the Misses dept. I wore my first pair of jeans (with zipper and not pull-on with elastic) yesterday to work since about 20 years.
Since my grandkids are in school I'm really not needed as much to babysit.
Food is not a priority. I've walked away from so many food situations. I actually enjoy eating what I have entered in my diary each day. I take the time to figure out and make what I need for me and it works for me. Yes, ME is my top priority now.
I am diabetic and have lowered my insulin shots by 6 Units now and am off my diabetic pill in the morning. That is a big plus.
I love reading everyones blogs and threads each day. I don't always post or reply but I do get encouragement or suggestions from each and every one of you.

Wow you have so many successes. Congratulations!! I love where you said "Food is not a priority" and that you have walked away from so many food situations. Great inspiration for me!!! Keep on walking!!!

Deb, it sounds like you've truly made such great improvements in your life and I liked the part about the jeans, too. That was hilarious! Great for you for fitting into the Misses dept. WOOT WOOT, what a feeling! Fantastic for lowering your insulin shots!!!! August 6th already!! Boo hoo, love fall, hate what comes after it.

I love the part about the jeans!!!
CK has been an excellent choice for me too! I'm a diabetic too and I've lowered my insulin from 50 units down to 13 units, in just the 2 months that I've been on CK!
I'm going ALL the way with this one!!
You've done an AWESOME job at not only lowering your insulin and getting off the oral meds, but a 5K? YOU GO GURL!!!!
