Well...today I ran the North Olympic Discovery Half-Marathon. I came in somewhere around 2hr41min, but I'm not sure of the exact time. I have to wait for the results to be posted online. IT was raining and cold and my parents and kids were getting wet. I thought I stopped my stop watch as I crossed the finish line, but didn't so I had to subtract about 5 mins to get a good guess for my time.

I must say for a first distance experience, this was great. It started out with beautiful weather and the scenery was gorgeous! I definitely recommend this course to people. There are a couple of steep hills, but they are doable and I was able to run every one of them. (Thanks to the hilly area in which I run) The organization was great and I had no problem checking in the day of the race. There were tons of porta potties at the starting area, but still a line. That was okay though. I missed the official start, but there were so many people that by the time I finished using the porta potty I crossed the start with the last group. Gotta love chip timing!

All in all...I feel good about doing this and about myself. I signed up for it, kind of trained for it, and did it. Yeah, I think I will do this again.

Calories........I never thought I would say this, but wow it's going to be hard to get my calories for today. I'm not going to make it today. I'm okay with that!! Anways, I think my next run is going to be whaling days (5 miles).
