View XSMOKER's food & exercise for this day

A.M.
Yesterday went well until the evening arrived. My husband was actually home for dinner! Crazy, but they didn't do a late study session because they had a test. He got 100%, I am so proud of how well he is doing. Anyways, I had three beers with my husband. Not a big a deal, it only put me over net by about 25 calories. The problem was the bag of cinnamon sugar pita chips that I ate. I ate the whole darn thing! :bang:

What I learned: Pita chips are a trigger food for me.:n: I can not buy a large bag, becase I will start and not stop. I seem to do okay with individual bags that you can eat with a sandwich. They are more expensive packaged that way, but I can control myself. So I'm not beating myself up, but using this as a learning experience. Tomorrow is weigh-in and I'm hoping I didn't do too much damage.

There are times when being a larger family can be difficult. Two of my daughters want to do swim team, but it requires a YMCA membership and then an additional due. I've got one daughter starting softball and another daughter who is not sure what she wants to do. I want to get them as active as possible, but it all requires money! I'm doing a lot of saving right now, because we are hoping to buy a house when we get to our next duty station (hopefully WA). I think I'm going to ask my parents if they will be willing to help out. I know tomorrow I need to buy a glove for my daugther so she can go to the skills clinic this weekend.

Goals for Today:
1. Log everything
2. No alcohol
3. Homework & Laundry
4. 30 mins. exercise

It just came out right before Christmas. You can check out the original New Rules of Lifting, it is a few years old and they probably have it, here is what it looks like. Lots of good info, just not the nutrition stuff that is geared specifically toward women:

Hi Jenna, I wanted to stop by and thank you for the welcome to CK. I have 4 children too, and I feel your pain! Everyone talked about how expensive it was when they were younger w/diapers, formula etc. It is WAY worse now. Sports are SO expensive!! :cross3: And we are finding out now that it's not just the money for the sign up and sporting equipment, it's also being able to afford the fuel to drive them all over the state to compete. Ugh.

I like Jessica's suggestion! It has always worked well for me to portion things out or weigh them then and there. Cumbersome, but worth it in the end. As for shuttling 4 kids around, you are my hero -- never mind paying for them!! :laugh5:

Busy Busy Bee :) I think a really great way to save money and monitor portion is a little trick I learned at WW back in the day...Just buy the big bag (it is cheaper in the long run) and a box of the ziploc snack bags. As soon as you get back from the grocery, portion out the entire bag. It really does help, and this way there are many more options than just the handful of brands that do the portioning for you :thumbu2:
