A.M.
My husband called his parents last night.:bang: Things are not going well out there for them. We know they haven't told us everything, but they told us enough. My husband wants us to send some money out to them, but I feel resentful about this. His parents have a horrible history of mismanaging their money. Right now, the bank is talking about filing suit against them because of some bounced checks. His dad bought some houses to rent out, right as the market was slowing down, and is allowing someone to live in a house who is not paying rent. His dad can't get any tile work right now ( his quality of work has degraded and he has a really bad temper) and he refuses to get a "job". In the mean time, his mom has some medical problems and they are basically living off of $800/month social security. However, they haven't sold off anything to try to pay the bills and his mom has not cancelled the huge cable bill.

I know I'm being selfish, but I just don't see an honest effort to cut back on their part. At the same time, I understand that they are older and shouldn't have to. Maybe I would feel better if they had been an active part of our lives. However, they never call on birthdays (for any of the kids or their son), didn't attend our wedding, and bend over backwards for my husband's sister. I guess I'm resentful and scared that they will come to rely on this money on a long term basis and not make any long lasting changes to what they are currently doing (which is not working). They have never been able to help us out with any situations and have only visisted us once in the 15 years we've been married!

Okay, I had a good day food wise yesterday. I had some sugar in the evening, but had enough calories to justify the expenditure. I stayed at net even with the chocolate splurge. I am sore today though. The bottom of my booty and hips are aching. Hopefully today will be a good workout and I can take tomorrow off as a rest day. I hit all three of my goals for yesterday.

Goals for Today:
1. Log everything
2. Stay w/in net
3. Exercise

:wave1: I am very glad that you made your goals yesterday and I know you will make them today....No you are not selfish...They need to learn to live within their means if at all possible...that means tightening the belt...canceling the expensive cable bill and if possible sell off some of their properties....at least I know I would do everything I could do to keep from asking my kids for help....Have a terrific Tuesday...:)

Good for you for making your goals...! And I totally understand how you feel about your in laws...if you keep bailing them out they have no reason to change their behavior. I hope it all resolves itself soon!
