LENSCHER's Story
When I got married I weighed just under 120 pounds. It was a comfortable weight for my short stature. A stressful job with too much soda pop and virtually no physical activity put on about 15 pounds in 4.5 years. Then, I got pregnant with my first baby. That pushed my weight up to about 173. After Annika was born, I got down to about 136 or so. A move to another state, difficulty finding jobs and adequate housing, unsatisfactory and stressful jobs, and 2 miscarriages later (blah blah blah) the weight shot up to nearly 180.
I've been the one that buys all the exercise equipment and DVDs on tv, but they have sat there for years and not been used. Summer of 07 I did my first 5k race as part of a team triathlon. I liked this experience because I felt like I accomplished something, even though my time was slow. So, I'm on schedule to do another.
I'm taking the advice of one gal here in CKland. Do you really want to wear the food that you eat, because you will if you eat too much. Portion size and nutritional content WERE my two food problems. Finding time for myself to exercise WAS the other problem.
Good luck to all of you. Fuel your body with good nutrition. It's essential.
