it feels so great to be making a change in my life. things have been so mundane for a while and i'm ready to be working towards a goal! i never realized what great people were on here and how they all can serve as a support system. i spoke with my mom about calorieking last night and she gave me even better feedback. hopefully when we get some free time we're going to go out to the grocery store and get some "good for you" food to keep in the house. i'm a huge fan of snacking and instead of the chips or a candybar, she suggested an apple or low fat popcorn. i've always been a fan of fruits and vegetables, however, never got hooked the way i am to fatty foods. this weekend denita will be here in virginia and i hope to jumpstart the weightloss with her by my side. we plan on going out most nights, but have scheduled in some gym time.

popcorn is an excellent substitute for chips. and those 100-calorie packs of other treats are good to keep around (especially if you can control yourself from ripping open more than one at a time ...
