LEIDEN's CalorieKing blog

View LEIDEN's food & exercise for this day

The pattern is always the same, it's just the day that changes.

I feel pretty good about yesterday. I was able to get my work out in, I kept my calories where I wanted them, and overall it just felt like a good day. Aside from being in class for the majority of the day, but that's the law of increasing opportunities.

Speaking of calories, I guess I should get this out of the way now - just incase. My target a day is 1200 BEFORE exercise. Whatever it comes out to after exercise is just what it is. I do not feel weak, I do not feel sick, I'm getting all my vitamins. It works for me because I've had surgery. So really, when I work out I'm getting closer to 600 calories a day according to CK. And that's fine, but I don't see it that way. I still see it as 1200 with 50 minutes of working out.

Now that I've justified that to myself. Moving on.

Today is another long day at school. Macroeconomics and Intercultural Communications are on the docket today, both of which are tolerable. Much easier to deal with than Mondays which consists of Math and Political Science. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Political Science but my peers aren't the most enjoyable people - so it takes away from the class.

At the time of writing, I've already eaten breakfast. I went for pancakes this morning, but I kinda feel like I messed up. I wanted to change things up a bit so I threw a conservative serving of chocolate chips into the mix, and I feel like it bumped my breakfast calories up more than I wanted it to. I do plan on hitting the gym today, so that makes me feel a little better about it - but still. I shall not be doing that again, probably fruit on them next time.

I haven't decided how I'm going to attack the rest of my nutrients today. I'll probably have some sort of snack in a couple hours, than a pseudo dinner before I head to class at 5:00pm. My room mate and I actually bought some food for the apartment, so there is stuff to eat now. Which means I don't have to steal food from my parents house to get bye. So maybe a chicken wrap or something like that when I get back from class at 11PM!!

Oh education monger, why must you attack me with night classes.

Oh yeah, I did it to myself. Not sure what I was thinking signing up for those things, but hey. Whatever. Taking 3 classes that only meet one day a week, make the semester fly bye. I can't believe we're almost at the half way point. I'd probably be quicker if I wasn't taking 2 regular classes as well.

About 8 minutes passed since I finished that last paragraph, and I didn't type anything, I guess this blog entry is over.

@uptown - In one of my economics classes we just had a random discussion about job interviews. Essentially if they are asking you the typical "what can you do for the company, tell me about yourself" it is really the worst way of hiring, but the best way to get a job. Essentially because those types of questions have cookie cutter answers, it really says nothing about how you can preform the tasks at the job. But they are easy to answer so the chances of being hired are good. I dunno, just thought of that class discussion when reading your post about an interview.

@rhodey - NO! I have a soft spot in my heart for anything with pumpkin, and it makes me sad that it's a splurge meal. Make it healthy :(

Thank you so much, Charlie for the well-wishes and the advice. Being myself is all I can ask of myself so I try to do that well. I have read and been told over and over again that you are judged; signed sealed and delivered a 'the decision' in the first 5-minutes. I think and hope I passed the first 5 test. They'll be calling for 2nd interviews between Wed and Fri. • I wouldn't apologize for 1200 calories w/or w/out exercise. If exercise brings you down to 600-calories then you should be able to enjoy the pancakes! One does need to fuel the exercises but on the other hand, eating back calories and/or or trying to meet a certain quota is highly over-rated and certainly over-marketed. Eat quality food and exercise and the equation should take care of itself! • So much easier said than done.
