Tuesday, Jun 5 2007 - A Wee Celebration
View MARCYINCNY1's food & exercise for this day
A kind of rain dance in reverse.
We got wonderful, soaking rain yesterday and I spent the entire day in the kitchen. I cleaned out the fridge in preparation for the summer bounty of fruits (berries!) and veggies, cleaned the oven, the coffee maker, the toaster, the Brita pitcher; all those little things that I tend to put off way too long. Then I made Marcella Hazan's wonderful rabbit with rosemary and white wine and tossed it with some casareccia.
I just felt the need for something a little special and I realize now that when I want to celebrate I automatically think in terms of food. Well, and there was that glass of wine. But anyway, I went over my calorie allotment and I didn't do any real exercise, although I was on my feet most of the day, and I don't feel the least bit guilty.
The rain anointing in all the work I did last week in the yard & garden, the improvement in my muscle tone and energy level, the optimism I feel about the CK program, all made me feel like celebrating in some small way and so I did it as always, with food. Oh, and a little wine.

How wonderful! A good soaking rain always brings out the best in me, so I understand how it inspired you! Your meal sounded special too. Tell me, is rabbit terribly good? I've never had it. Is it a lean meat? I made a large vegetable soup last night and added a little white wine and treated myself to just a couple ounces while I cooked. That is my all time favorite time to have a glass of wine. It's all about the preparation, creation and anticipation.
Life sounds mighty good in your neck of the woods, keep it up!
