One of the things I can't figure out about CK is why some information is available in one place and not another.When I go to my online diary, I get one display of my record but when I go to my 'public diary' I get another with a very helpful chart of daily averages for the week. I wish the daily averages of nutrients was part of my weekly report which gives me nothing more that the net calories for each day. A Chilly Morning

A chilly morning, perfect for a 'extra' trip to the park. I encouraged a friend to join me this morning and we took a more leisurely pace, enjoying the magnificent display of ferns brought on by the recent rain.We're having dinner out this evening, the same Italian restaurant, the same minestrone and salad but I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a half cup of cottage cheese before we go so I'll be able to limit myself to one slice of bread. Then we're going to see a Dutch film by Paul V...

A kind of rain dance in reverse.We got wonderful, soaking rain yesterday and I spent the entire day in the kitchen. I cleaned out the fridge in preparation for the summer bounty of fruits (berries!) and veggies, cleaned the oven, the coffee maker, the toaster, the Brita pitcher; all those little things that I tend to put off way too long. Then I made Marcella Hazan's wonderful rabbit with rosemary and white wine and tossed it with some casareccia.

We need more, but I'm grateful for what we've gotten so far in part because now I have an excuse not to go out today and wrestle with the tiller and the 40lb. bags of composted cow manure. I do hope to get out later and park myself on an upturned bucket to do some easy weeding. The first Gerald Darby iris blossom is open this morning.With the cooler weather I'm looking forward to doing some real cooking this week. I have a rabbit soaking in the fridge for tonight and tomorrow I'm planning...

In the Carolinas maybe? We really need some rain and I could use the excuse to take a break from the work in the yard & garden. I think I've been overdoing it and my feet need some time off.I did keep up my Tues./Thurs./Sun. park schedule this morning and the chestnut-sided warblers seem to be staying put in two locations along my hike. The second fella's song is my reward for my second climb.
I concentrated on adding some calories yesterday despite the heat and I think I notice...
