Saturday, Jul 25 2009 - Losing weight can be its own reward
View MOLLYJ's food & exercise for this day
Well, I am down about 30 pounds and the extremely vain part of me cannot wait to go back to school so I can hear people ask me if I lost weight over summer!!!

Oh, yes, just a little! Yeah right. anyhow, I'm excited but at the same time being back at school will make it much more challenging to exercise.
Today DS wanted to go to IHOP for heaven's sake. But he's a teenager so we went. He's eaten a lot of funky diet food so it was time for a little reciprocity. IHOP is one of those restaurants that even they know their food is so obscenely calorie laden that they don't print calorie counts except on their calorie cutters menu. Well I had the multi-grain pancake with the scrambled eggs from egg substitute. I only ate one of the two pancakes they foisted on me. It was good and filling. And they really taste so good as is that it wasn't hard not to put butter and syrup on it. So it was a plan ahead and survive and then I went to the Y and did exercise.
At the Y I did 30 min on the elliptical, 20 of lap swimming (i like it but haven't been in the water in forever) and then 10 minutes of water walking. So know I have some extra calories but poor DH does not. Great Saturday, laid back fun. Anyhow the main point of this blog entry is to record my # of laps so that I can track that. I did 10 laps. That's an increase from 6 the first time I went a couple of weeks ago, then 8 another time, and now 10. I may hang at 10 for a while. Swimming is something I can do that is aerobic when it starts to get cold in KS.
Also got a DVD for yoga and I like it. I think I'm about ready to get myself to a class but that will take some commitment since they are at something like 6:15 in the morning. Getting up is not hard but I'm packing lunches in the morning and that takes time. I will need to do something different when school starts because it's taking too much time in order to be at school by 7:45 or so.
feeling thinner and successful today. Tuesday, it's back on the hormones so progress will come to a halt. *Sigh* Builds empathy, though.
